What is everyone’s feeling on the Israel, Gaza confict?
Over the years Israel has asked the Hamas to stop shooting rockets into there country, and they have not headed the warning to date.
Now that Israel is fighting back, the feeling of most people that Israel has gone to far in defending their land.
I am personally infavor of Israel defending what is rightfuly theirs.
I do feel sorry for the civilians that are unforunate victims, but Hamas need to be stopped. I am in support of Israel.

    • I am not well educated in the history of Israel and Hamas. I only remember growing up that Israel was always at war with someone. I don’t quite understand it and maybe someone on the site can give me a reader’s digest version of what is going on.

Why has Israel been fighting off and on for the last 50 years?

    • Sadly the British controlled what was known as Palestine and evicted the Arabs living there after the WW2 and it was made into the state of Israel. It was so all the Jewish people had a place to call their own after the horrors of Nazi Germany and the war.
So then the Israelis have spent all this time fighting those around them to maintain the land – but actually now I think it's gone too far. I remember as a child the 6 day war etc; now the Palestinian people are just as persecuted .........it's very tricky and everyone has their view on this.

      I just think it's sad.

The people who suffer always are the innocent families caught in the middle who just want to live peacefully and make a living and a life for their children .

    • Girls, there is no short answer for this conflict.

One thing I study is Bible history. I had to take it in college and every year in school. It also helped that my Grandfather was a Pastor for 55 years.

If you believe the Bible  then you already know that Israel belongs to the Jewish people. It was land that was given by God in Genesis 17:4 7-8

The Lord says in his word that He will bless those that bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel.

The fighting has been going on since Isaac and Ishmael . Isaac was the chosen one according to God . One of Isaac sons was Jacob whose name was changed to Israel.

God promised Abraham and Sarah a son. When years had passed and they did not have a baby Sarah suggested to Abraham that perhaps he should have a baby with her Egyptian handmaid, Hagar. Abraham said that sounds like the will of God to me sweetie. (Men??)

Abraham and Hagar had Ishmael 13 years before Isaac was born. His birth was the beginning of a family feud between Jews and Arabs that has endured until this day.

      Two sons...two choices!!!

Ishmael was Abraham’s physical descendant, yet he was not chosen. The child of promise was Isaac. There is a point to be considered in these births. Isaac was born by supernatural power of God. Sarah was well past the age of producing children.

This is the division between the natural child of Abraham (Arabs from Ishmael) and the children of promise (the Jews from Isaac).

It is alot more to this then just this but this was the beginning and the story goes on to the present day

There would be nothing better than to have peace . Annie is right though we cannot imagine life the way the Jewish people have to live. Bomb shelters in your house or in your building at work. Everyday wondering will my child’ s school be bombed or the cafe is which I am eating. It is a way of life for the Jewish people in Israel.

This is not about land really, it’s a spritual battle between good an evil. Jesus said to keep your eyes on Jeruslem in the last days. Ladies I believe we are living in the end times, and I pray that everyone is watching and praying for the Lords return and for peace of Israel.

IF you like him or if you don’t (everybody has an opinion) The book is full of Israel’s history and all the scriptures to support it. It is a very  interesting read.

I read it with my Bible in hand.

    • I read that book and it was very enlightening. Bible Prophesy is very interesting to study,if you get the chance. With the Economy the way it’s going it will not be long before we will enter an era of one world government that will enslave the human race as a whole. I urge you to prepare in the comming months and years to pay off your debt as best you can, and try to live within your means. Don’t be enslaved to Satan’s schemes. Remember this is between Good and Evil you will have to chose one day. Let God become first and formost in all of your lives. It will not be long.

    • LJBlondie,

I love topics like this. It is so interesting to me to hear others beliefs and stories.

My Grandfather use to talk about Revelations and I would hang on his ever word. If you could see my book case, anytime there is a book out about  King David, end times, Bible Prophesy I have it. David is my favorite. He was the poet, the fighter, the lover, the leader of God’s chosen people. He was so confident in the Lord. We can learn so much from the success and the failures of this great man.

After our post the other night I pulled out Jerusalem Countdown and started reading it again.

    • I know that this is a very difficult issue. But I think the following article clearly explains WHY Israel had to finally, after a long period of restraining itself, react. And yes, react in a military, albeit painful, fashion.

      [Link Removed]

This Lieber article from the Washington Post analyzes the main issues.

The reality is that no one wants to see civilians suffer...and that is why Israel finally took a step.
      Painful reality.

No solution left for our generation and I’m sure it will be the same for our kids‘.

    • It will take repentance on the part of God’s people to make real change, and the change that we really want to see. I am calling for all of God’s Ladies to pray for everlasting peace that only comes from above.
We want to seek God’s will, and seek his face at this trying time. It will not get better until we do.
