(1912-2004) born on Aug 15 US “chef, author, TV hostess“. “She is the star of “The French Chef,” 1962-83; wrote “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” 1961.”  

Mrs. Child was fabulously portrayed by Meryl Streep in last year’s Oscar nominated film
“Julie & Julia” adapted in part from Julie Powell’s blog and book of the same name.
