According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' top 10 list of poisons in 2009, the number one item that poisoned animals was human medications. Last year the ASPCA managed 45,816 calls involving prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Just as important as it is to keep medications locked up away from your animals, there are other household items that are harmful to your pet.
