I came across this video and found it extremely funny, but the joke was on me because I myself had fallen victim to purchasing glasses online and experiencing the problems from lack of proper measurements and poor quality.

Lesson to be learned: shop eyewear with an optician/stylist to be properly serviced and look for independent, quality eyewear brands.

    • OMG this vid is sick (in a good way), lol! But it is so true about what you order online especially spectacles! I’ve ordered from two websites and only one was able to get it right for my prescription! These days I cannot afford going to a vision specialist (lost my job therefore, no vision benefits anymore), so I save and go to Wal-Mart. They give me the prescription after they do the vison testing and what not. Since I can’t sfford the spectacles, I order my better choice online (39DollarGlasses.com) and yes, they have glasses for only $39.00, with shipping being only $5. This includes the prescription AND the glasses oyu choose. I am very frugal when it comes to shopping and this I prefer right now. Not saying you shouldn’t or should, but for some this works better! tongue out

    • Thanks for sharing, Yana.  Luckily, hub works for an optometry university, so we get our exams paid for.  There are many varieties of eyeglasses that they offer, but I usually keep the same frames for a few years and then upgrade when there are sale items.

    • I don’t buy much online these days so I’m having a hard time thinking of any specifics. Living in Hawaii, the shipping is usually more than than the actual item. Even if the ad says, “free shipping,” it doesn’t apply to us.

I did, however, buy a food scale once off of one of the clickable ads on this site, and I love it!estatic

    • glasses?  never!  we don’t really buy very much, but this year w/ the move, it’s been a lot of instore purchases.  However, dh did find some headboards for the guest room on overstock that are really very nice!  He also found our new kitchen faucet there as well.
He’s way better at it than I am. hating shopping as I do. After going to quite a few stores looking for new bedroom lamps, you guessed, dh found those on line as well. same ones we couldn’t afford in a brick front but for less than half the cost!
but then boy was there a fiasco on my buying flowers to send to my sil-what a racket that is!
