Managing people is about getting productive results, building a team of individuals to accomplish a task that will benefit everyone involved. The leader should be focused on understanding the skills of his team by observing, motivating, inspiring and offering encouragement until the end.

Manipulation on the other hand has no place in relationships whether professional or personal. This skill is solely for unfair gain, the person who manipulates only cares about themselves and they do whatever they need to do in order to be the only one who benefits from the completed task.

I dislike manipulators with a passion, a passion that keeps me away from them or squashes the desire to work with them on anything. Their influence is skillful yet unfair. Now if I find myself in the company of such people I make a concentrated effort to get off of the team if that is my only recourse, for we all know that there are times when nothing said changes the personnel that you have to work with or under. So I pray until something happens.
