Many people attempt to meditate and claim that they cannot. More often than not, they are attempting to still their mind and they have never done it before so they may not accomplish this right away and feel like a failure. Some people think that sitting meditations are the only way to meditate. And yet there are innumerable ways of meditating. As my teacher, Michael Bernard Beckwith says, most people ask how to meditate without asking the question, what is meditation? Meditation is a sincere commitment to focusing on the ultimate reality. Meditation is really setting an intention to focus on God or a quality of God like Love, Joy, Peace, Wisdom, Guidance, Harmony or Truth.  

Meditation is a spiritual practice that is the key to your Power. And, if you think that means spiritual power, you're right. But it also supports your mind and body power. Meditation increases oxygen to your cells. Meditation lowers blood pressure, decreases stress, calms attitude, increases memory, increases self-discipline, improves digestion, relieves psychic pain, and improves your coordination.
