It’s just so hard to believe that we‘re getting ready for Memorial Day!  Except for the heat-Lucky and I are doing our best to get out the door before 8:30 a.m. or we won’t get our walk in!  I’ll be using the treadmill before too long.

We grill almost year-round.  Even when we were in Cali-my motto was:  If God had meant for me to use the broiler, he wouldn’t have seen to it that grills were invented.

The girls, two younger grandsons and Lucky and I will be on the road coming home on the holiday-Dylan will be with his dad, dh and ds will be working the latest sale in their perspective stores.

Who knows what we’ll all be doing for dinner!

Tonight though it’s all about the grill!  Although it’s “red” dh insisted on taking the only beef product out of our freezer for dinner tonight.  Enough there for his lunch on Tuesday.  I’ve rubbed it with just some various spices and salt I threw together:  more or less equal parts of paprika, garlic and onion powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and sea salt and pepper.

I’ve trimmed and tossed asparagus with minced garlic, sea salt, pepper and evoo.  Last but not least-I’ve shucked, soaked and then coated corn with the same elements as the asparagus and wrapped them up for the grill as well.

If dh is in the mood for some dessert we’ve got some sorbet in the freezer.  With the temps officially in the triple digits-that’s about as decadent as it’s going to get.

I know many of you are still experiencing anything but cooler temps and even snow, but I hope by Memorial Day you too will be able to wrap yourselves up in some sun!

Love it
