I just finished reading the reign of the cougar and what happened to men.  Over the last year I have been doing counseling with only men. I have learned so much about them and from them this year!! So here are a few tidbits...

1.  If men are responsible for providing you with “protection” by providing for you financially and keeping you safe, etc they relate to you in a completely different way than if they don’t.  So, if you really want an equal relationship with a man bring an equal amount of money,  security and power “to the table.  Not more, not less.

2.  Men think “cougars” are COOL!  As cool as it is to have a younger woman on their arm.  It translates to the man being more mature, more viral, more masculine, more together.  Did you know that cougar can be used as a verb? As in “I was totally cougared by her“.  Said with a mix of shock and surprise!!

3.  Women do horrible things to men, like sending a breakup text that shows her having sex with another man.  Like having a man arrested just because she can. Like leaving the state with no notice and taking the kids.  Like talking about making things better in the relationship while at the same time cleaning out the bank account, selling his tools on Ebay and putting a tracking device on his car.  So I want to ask; What has happened to people?

4.  Men have an equal ability to be nurturing, caring and loving to children as women do if encouraged and supported.

5.  Men CAN multitask.  But multitasking isn’t good for anyone so we all need to stop it!!

6.  Men cry readily and frequently, but not publicly and they refuse kleenex because that acknowledges the tears,  BUT, if they aren’t afraid of being shamed, a roomful of men will cry and share grief.    I have seen it happen.

7.  My wish is for everyone, man and women, to be kinder and more loving to each other.  Even Gloria Steinhem has become a humanist rather than still defining herself as a feminist.

    • I liked all the information shared and especially #1 and #2.

Feminism: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes
2 : organized activity on behalf of women’s rights and interests

This definition makes me a feminist and nowhere does it say I’m a male basher contrary to public definition it states we want “equality of the sexes“.

Humanism is a worldview and a moral philosophy that considers humans to be of primary importance.

I guess this definition makes me a Humanist too because truly I believe all human life to be important.
