Well yesterday afternoon I headed to the ER...and surprisingly they bumped me up to the top of the list and I was able to get in right away...

Talking about an embarrassing situation...having these doctors and nurses explore my groin area...poking and prodding all the while I am writhing in pain...I felt like grabbing each one of them by the you know what and ask “how do you like that?” but of course I didn’t but believe me the thought was there.

The doctor sent me to the side of the ER that is used for the more serious he said he wasn’t equipped to handle my case.

Once in the other side I had to see another doctor...this doctor wasn’t too bad...after he saw that I was in so much pain ordered the nurse to give me a painkiller....So the nurse hooked me up to an IV...gave me two white pills...I thought this was the painkiller...little did I know that it wasn’t...still not sure what they were...but I figured the doctor knows his job and knows fully well what he was doing so I left it in his hands.  A few minutes later the nurse comes in with a syringe...and proceeds to administer it into my IV...I didn’t feel nothing at first but then I got this wave of weird heart began to race and then all of a sudden this rush of weirdness invaded my whole body...turns out they gave me morphine...and man did that work fast...I could hardly feel the doctor as he was examining me.

At this point he ordered blood tests to see how bad the infection was...And apparently it was bad...the abscess was the size of a tennis ball and very badly infected...after learning all of this I was left to wait...and wait and wait....but I didn’t care as I was in la la land...A while later he came in to inform me that he was going to lance it and then I had to come back for a few days for the antibiotics and to have the dressing changed...After that it didn’t take long and I was on my way home...

It was such a relief to get it done...although I am still in a bit of pain and discomfort the worst part is over...And I am glad that I took the nurse’s advice and went to the ER...I didn’t want to at first...I asked for a prescription for antibiotics and thought perhaps it would go away...but she insisted I I am diabetic and having an infection of that severity was compromising my health.

Lessoned not wait til the last minute as sometimes it may be too late.
