As I look over the five pages plus of what I've entitled "things I like and/or interest me" each topic tugs at something in me and I find myself absolutely stuck.  It's like a box of chocolates.  Which one do I eat first?  It's like going shoe shopping.  Which ones do I want?  All, of course, in both cases.  Not entirely a reasonable option, sadly, so I end up choosing (although in the case of chocolates, likely more than one) which one speaks to me.  Side note here, I've had men ask me how I know which shoes/clothes/pieces of jewelry to buy and I've always responded "I know because the one I need to buy speaks to me."  One guy responded,

"So, you're saying if there's nothing talking to you in a shoe store you won't buy anything?"

I had to gently correct him and say when shoes actually talk to me I should probably be looking for medication prescribed by a psychiatrist, but when shoes speak to me, then, yes.  I do buy them.  But, I digress.......

This is entirely a new phenomenon for me:  I have so much I want to write about I don't know where to start.  New, indeed.

I have been thinking about how I would write these new posts.  I've decided some will be stories, where others will be topics I want to know more about (and thus will research) and more still, thoughts on subjects.  I don't particularly want to place symbolism in what I start with because that feels like taking analysis a bit too far.  I will pick one, spin-the-globe-and-pick style.  I will print out these sheets and lay them out in front of me and see where my finger lands.


The story of mice and rats, it is.


It begins!  I'm writing!
