I am not freaking out about my weight gain (two pounds in one week)

but neither am I getting any more exercise into my days. I feel like

the max I can handle is 3-4 times a week, walking and yoga and lifting

freeweights just a little bit 2-3 of those days. And by "max I can

handle" I mean, it's really all I want to do, all I can reasonably do

and still write, teach, and have a life.



So thank stars for Jorge Cruise. I bought his book, The 3-Hour Diet

because I wanted to start eating smaller meals. I have been successful

at halving my breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, but I know that

there's a combo of nutrients that I need to master, to have the right

amount of carbs, fats, proteins, and fruits and veggies in my diet.

That's where Jorge comes in. He believes in using all the food groups,

not cutting out carbs or fats. I believe in that, too.



So I figured his menus would be compatible with what I'm doing and,

who knows, maybe I'd learn a thing or two if I got around to ever

actually reading the book instead of just using it for recipe ideas.



Between the gaining weight and lack of enough exercise, I guess I

needed a shot in the arm yesterday. And Jorge gave it to me. I had no

idea that he claims you can still lose weight if you follow his plan

even if you don't exercise! Woo hoo!



I know I need to exercise. And I will. But what I like is that maybe I

won't have to up the amount of exercise I'm currently busting my butt

to fit into my week. Maybe if I just really follow his plan to the

letter, I will lose those 10 pounds in two weeks his cover blurb

boasts about. And get this, you're supposed to lose belly fat first. I

will let you know if this works or not. Meanwhile, it fits my

lifestyle and health ideals.
