I’m not sure where to start or even what heading to post this under.
I will be changing jobs in another week. I am super excited about the new opportunity but also sad about the old......
I have always had my resume posted on Monster or Indeed. It was not so much that I was looking for a job but more to see what was out there being offered to my employees. Occasionally along the way I have been offered jobs. I have always turned them down. I am NOT a job hopper. I have had 2 meaningful jobs in my life. One for 17 years and the other for 7. Then that time off for moving south. And then going back to work for the past year for my old boss in a new company.
I won’t go into the good bad or uglies about this company I am finishing up with. Why bother with any of that right? I will just say that their business practice does not line up with mine.
So I will be finishing up in the next week or so and will be handling their dirty work in that time.
On the 19th I will begin working with the womens clothing retailer Coldwater Creek. I have decided to manage one of their locations (and lucky for me they wanted me!)which is less than 5 minutes from my home.
The positives: Close to home, no travel other than training, new challenge (I’ve never done clothes), better pay and very positive people! I like that!
The negatives: It’s not in the beauty product biz, I will know nothing other than my common sense, The challenge of retraining myself to be in ONE location, having to say good bye to the people I liked.
Now the dirty work that remains for me to complete will not be fun and it will be altering the lives (short term I hope)of some of the people that currently work for me. I could have just waited it out and let it be handled after I left. But that is no way to treat people that worked hard for me.
So I will be busy over the next few weeks wrapping up and saying good bye. And then training after that.....

Wow! Vikki, that really is some ups and downs! I wish you all the very best with the new job. It sounds very exciting. Coldwater has such pretty clothes too. You’ll do GREAT! And of course working for them, I bet you’ll get a lot more color in your wardrobe than basic black. 
Lol! TL switching up from all black is going to be a challenge too However I’m up for that challenge
Hey, wait a min.! What’s wrong with black!? I happen to know that for what ever reason, when I wear white, dirt FLINGS it’s self at me! AND black takes at least 15 pounds off your figure!! If wearing black pants and the infamous question comes up,Do these pants make my butt look big?...well,NO cuz in black, your butt totally disapears! Right? Ok then!
Connie wearing black has been a way of life for me close to 30 years..... Should be interesting to add some color!

I believe that you WILL still be in the beauty industry, Vikki. Clothing makes a woman feel beautiful and Coldwater Creek caters to women in our demographic. I’m excited for you. You’ll get in there and OWN that place! I see their sales skyrocketing in no time. Maybe you’ll even be managing a district - if that’s something that interests you.
I’m looking forward to hearing about it as things progress along.

I personally love retail and very surprised that I’m in the bankin business and not in retail. Your new news...makes me want to go back into retail. I really do love it.
I am looking forwards to working with women my age-ish and not being as high maintenance as in the salon world.
Today tho begins the closing of a few locations in my current job. I’m not looking forwards to going in to tell these people they have no job......

Congrats to you Vikki, I too am a lover of Coldwater Creek. I wish you all the best I know you’ll do just fine, I’ll be so glad when I can move on from my taskmaster’s at my current job still looking though.
Put that employee discount to good use and get some scarves(prints and colors) to go with those black clothes.
