Years ago I had the privilege of working at Jack LaLanne's President's First Lady's Health Club in Oklahoma City. I grew up watching my Mother work out with Mr. LaLanne during his television shows wielding her elastic band and a kitchen chair. This morning ritual kept my mother in great shape and I became a fan.
When I finally got to meet Mr. LaLanne IRL I was beyond thrilled - after all, he was a celebrity! It was fascinating to witness how he greeted the lines of swooning females that waited patiently to meet him; he always offered kind words of encouragement to the visitors and everyone left with a smile on their face.
The business of fitness was his life and I am delighted he shaped my thinking.
You will always be very special to me, Mr. LaLanne!

I was sad to hear that he had passed. He contributed so much to world of fitness.
What a legacy he left.....he was so far ahead of everyone else in the beginning of his career with fitness and nutrition! What an inspiration he was....
