I admit it...i'm a bit of a reality TV junkie.  I watch the Real Housewives of Orange County  but i can't stand the other "Real Housewives" shows.  I think the NJ Housewives are stupid...literally...low IQ, low class.  The NY Housewives are weird (reference Simon and his stick-figure wife) and the Atlanta Housewives all talk REALLY loud and all at the same time...that gives me a headache!

LA Ink  has been on at least 3 seasons now.  Kat is one busy girl but, based on what the show has depicted, she's really dropping the ball for letting Aubrey stay as shop manager for as long as she has.  Aubrey causes dissention and it really doesn't matter why, when you think about it.  If Kat wants the cream of the crop tattoo artists, she'd better make them happy...and Aubrey irritates every tattoo-ist in the shop.  I agree that they have been mean to her, though.  Just fire the girl so everyone can get what they need (including Aubrey).  BTW...i, too, find her annoying!

Celebrity Rehab ...here's another train wreck program which i almost never miss.  It's really sad how spoiled these celebrities are...thinking they are above it all.  The dispositions are typically that of entitlement and their drug addictions are no exception.  Dr. Drew is so patient and sympathetic.  I get the feeling he is genuinely hopeful for their recovery but i also get the feeling that he's banging his head against the wall more than he's not.

The Little Couple ...if you haven't checked this show out, i think you should.  The wife is a pediatrician and the husband is (i believe) in sales.  They are just now embarking on building a new home and looking into surrogacy in order to start a family.  Great sense of humor betwen them and very little drama.

Keeping Up ith the Karasians ...gawd, i love this show!  The girls are ridiculous, the mother (Kris) is, too.  Some of the stuff she pulls is outrageous, but i love how "in stride" Bruce Jenner takes it all.  It stokes a fire in me to hear the way the daughters speak to their mother AND to Bruce, though.  I could NEVER have the restraint to ignore their disrespectful tone and down-right inappropriate comments.  For such a dysfunctional family, these people would go to the wall for each other without a though!  Makes me re-examine dysfunctionality, sometimes

Millionaire Matchmaker ...we should all have a friend like Patti Stanger!  She direct, honest and really quite intuitive.  I watch the show for HER, not the losers who hire her.  I recently learned that the "clients" shown on her program are actually people chosen by the producers based on their marketability to draw viewership.  This really disappointed me but i realized that she's using the same approach with the cherry-picked "clients" as she uses for her legitimate clients.  I guess the millionaires who pay for her services don't want to be showcased like the doofuses that they do showcase.

*Little People, Big World*...another show i’ve seen since it began.  Right from the start, it became very clear that Matt has the personality and charm and Amy is a buzz-kill.  In our house, we’d refer to Amy as the “fun-sucker-outer“.  Always being the voice of reason is one thing, but being the belittling, condescending voice of reason is another.  Both Amy and Matt are excellent parents for the most part but they simply don’t hold the kids accountable for their actions.  And don’t even get me started on the condition of their home!  One might think that if cameras are coming to film, one might want to pick the crap up around the house.  The boys sleep on bare mattresses! My son once used that program as an argument for not making his bed.  That’s when i informed him that we are more civilized than that!

Clean House  (or Clean Sweep); i think i watch these programs so i don't feel so badly about the attention my own house needs.  These people are so disgustingly messy (some are downright filthy, too).  Petrified cat poo in a closet...dirty dishes piled to the ceiling, not one available open space to prepare, much less eat dinner.    And the denial!!!  I love how these people want to make excuses for the condition of their pig-pen homes!  Here's the truth...YOU'RE LAZY

Then there’s the competetive reality shows:

I'd be remiss if i didn't open this category with AMERICAN IDOL !  What can i say?  Simon is a badass, Randy is the "dawg" and i do like Cara more now that Paula is gone.  I intensely disliked Cara last season.  The guest judging is interesting, i guess but the audition shows are less and less appealing to me.  I admit that the producers did a better job this season of showing us some talent at the auditions instead of the steady onslaught of freak shows, train wrecks and emotionally unstable contestants.  All those poor-talentless kids ranting, swearing and crying their way out of the building and down the street...haven't they watched the show before?  Don't they KNOW that they are going to be the butt of jokes for that kind of behavior???

The Bachelor ; this latest bachelor has the sex appeal of Charlie Brown.  He reminds me of Tom Cruise...very calculated, controlled, always "on".  He's going to choose the bimbo, further endorsing my low opinion of him.

Project Runway ; this has got to be one of my all-time favorite programs.  Heidi's voice grates on my nerves sometimes, but at least she's brief.  The contestants always provide a good amount of drama and i admit that i find myself hoping this one or that one goes home or is "in", in spite of what they produce for the runway show.  And, Tim Gunn...LOVE

    • Wow.  That’s a lot of tv.  I do like to catch “What not to wear” when I can.  Hubby always has to watch American Idol, so I see that, but some of the rest of those shows I’ve never even heard of.

I guess I catch up because they replay alot of them during the week. And I watch so much HGTV and TLC! YIKES! I do need a support group! Glad to see I’ll have a lot of friends when I “check-in“!
