More than 30 years ago I purchased a black and white,12 inch RCA television for my little brother. Over the course of these many years we never had a problem with the television. I used it outside in the garage and even though it wasn’t cable ready it still provided quality watching with the basic channels.

Well, as I recall the other day the switch happened and we were told that if we didn’t have a converter box we would be left in the dark. Lastnight I turned on the television just to see if they knew what they were talking about and lo and behold all I got on every channel, even the U was snow.

Imagine after 30 years my television finally lost the fight to new age technology. What can I turn it into besides junk?frown

    • I’m going to have to give that more thought after all it is B&W. I don’t entertain that often to have a need for it in the garage, but I’ll give it some considerationohhhh.

    • 47....I am feeling you, and I bet If this digital (crap) excuse my language didn’t happen, your B/W tv would still be kicking and entertaining you In the garage for another 30 years. Hubby and I just got converter boxes for our tv a couple days before It went Into action and It’s a big pain In the ARSE! My hubbys getting pissed and cursing at the box and hes about ready to get cable Instead. Some things should just remain the same Instead of changing It. But I guess thats life.

    • So I found out today that I can’t even listen to the tv channels on the radio anymore! I listen to the CBS channel in the morning on my way to work so I can catch the news. So I wonder what they plan to do about that! I have no idea why they felt it was necessary to go digital...everything was perfectly fine the way it was. I agree with UK...just a way to make more money...there really was no real need for it.

    • Well ladies, I truly understand and agree with you about this crap concerning the converter box for our televisions but this had been told to us in past times that it was coming. But this in my opinion is another way the goveernment can see into our homes spying on us. Again I have to go back to the seeing eye sign on the back of the dollar bill this is what the world is coming to no privacy no where not even in the privacy of our own homes and believe you me there is more spying to come we are living in the end times whether some what to believe this or not.
