Hi ladies!  I’m not sure if this would actually go under the category “Entreprenuership“.  Anyway, as we all know our economy has hit a record low since the “Depression“.

It’s a good time to make extra $$$ and for years and years I have been very curious about “Mystery Shopping“.  I had a co-worker who said it was a great opportunity and that she had done it, however, this gal was a pathological liar and an un-reliable source for fact.

Has anyone ever done this?  Is it for real or BS?

    • The company I worked for had  them shop each store twice per month.....
The pay varies and they don’t always reimburse you for purchases.

      Good Luck!

    • I did this years and years ago...back in the 80s. It was fun for a while but in my case, it was regional (we covered 5 states) and I was away from home a lot!  I was in a car, going from store to store for days on end with 3 other women.  It got old.  As someone above said, it varies and you have to ask questions. In my case, I was paid a regular salary and was given a stipend to pay for food - our car, gas and rooms were provided.  We shopped with company money. How ours worked was this.

Pull up to a store. The team lead gave you the depts you had to shop and the amount of cash you could use.  You had to grade service, ask for help if it wasn’t offered and do a last minute purchase to see how they handled getting that extra bit of cash at the end.  Then you took your things to the car, gave them to the team lead and she took all the items back inside with the reports that we filled out in the car (sucked in the summer). She got the money back and gave the manager the reports.

As I said, it was fun for a while, but hot and tiring and was tough with 4 women in a compact car and shoved into a single hotel room.

Good luck if you decide to go for it.

      Suzi

    • I would like to know about that too.  I would not mind to go to restaurant and try out.  I think some reputable ones do reimburse.  Not really sure.
