Is it just me or is is it the older you get the harder it is to lose weight - or even maintain it?

I just 42 and am frustrated that I can’t seem to lose weight.  I know it’s a catch 22 but I don’t have the desire or energy to even go for a walk but I know if I did I would feel better.

Does anyone have some simple ideas for just getting started?  I would love to keep in touch with someone going through the same thing that I can use as an exercise buddy - someone to be accountable to.  Anyone out there?
