Never giving up

Do you ever get frustrated because things are moving too slowly in your life? Many people don’t realize that building a foundation for success does not happen overnight. It is a slow process in which you are constantly working and learning. After all, that foundation must remain strong, even in times of failure or crisis. This takes time! You may have to remind yourself that “failing” is only failure if you quit; otherwise it’s a learning opportunity. So don’t worry if your life seems to be moving in slow motion. Concentrate on building a solid foundation and learning from your back steps.

    • Right now...I“m on the quest of trying to lose weight.  So far since May 1st....I’ve lost 18 pounds.  You say...wow...it’s taken you that long to lose 18 pounds?  Yes....it has but it’s okay.  I didn’t put this weight on overnight...well sort of I did...but that is beside the point.  It did take some time and it will take some time to come off.  In the midst of just trying to lose it...I am also trying to change my way of thinking about food, exercise, weight loss, and just being healthy.  I look at it sort of like a self brainwashing.  But I have found that if I have a bad day...I just do not beat myself up over it. So..when the next day comes...it’s a new day...another new beginning. I’m not doing any special diet this time like I have so many times in the past.  I’m just counting the calories and being very aware of what I put into my mouth.  Also....in the past I was always taught to weigh only once a week.  Well...this go around...I weigh everyday.  I record it and it makes me more accountable.  If I gain one morning..then I know I need to change something for the next day to show a loss again.  It’s a long journey..and..I refuse to fail this time. happy

    • Hey There mary! Awareness IS the key! Better than diets! Once I hit my first goal I am going to incoporate some things back into my diet like fruit and certain whole grains, but I just have to be aware! Calorie counting works wonders , so the the food pyramid....when I first found out I had diabetes I was 5 months preg with my last child...I went on a food pyramid/calorie counting program and lost 50 pounds....while I was pregnant! I had it to lose and the baby kept gaining weight so it was a good thing. I wish I had kept ot up them...that was 14 years ago....But I didnt and am trying it yet again, but this time feels different! I know youcan do it! I am praying for you!
Have a great day! Be strong!

    • I love your new pic! Very sassy MC....

Well let’s see....you have lost 18 lbs since 5/1 and what have you learned along the way?
      What I read was this....
      Quitting is not an option
      Live and learn
Successful foundations take time to create
Your human and sometimes you make mistakes but hey we all do
You are stronger and more committed than you thought

I congratulate you on you many successes along with the 18 lbs you lost along the way.

    • 18 lbs sounds terrific to me!  I wish I would have joined you back then so I could have the same success!  Don’t think it’s not a huge accomplishment—IT IS!  To be able to say you’ve stuck with it this long is also a huge accomplishment!

I am impressed!  Congratulations!  The way you are approaching this is very wise.  You are making a change that will most likely last your whole life long.

      U r da bom!

    • Ya’ll are really so nice.  I didn’t write this for compliments...only to encourage others.  Believe me....I have definitely needed the encouragement.  But for some reason...this time...it’s been easier than in the past.

I’m the bomb huh?  LOL  So funny....

Thanks for the compliments on my new profile as well.  I needed something different...so I changed it on a whim.
      Thank you again.

    • Thanks Rubinarbina:  I appreciate your comments.....and everyone else’s!!

Just an update:  Today...I blew it...I had Mexican for lunch..which really isn’t bad...I always eat Mexican even through my weight loss journey so far...I just don’t eat so many chips or totillas...basically chicken and vegetables.

But this afternoon....all of us at the office had those new Wendy’s Twisted Frosty’s.  I had the Coffee Toffee one...well..it’s the bomb.  But..this other co-worker said to me..oh well..you’ll be wanting one everyday ..they are so good.  Well guess what...it was delicious..and I absolutely enjoyed every drop of it...but...it’s not something I will crave everyday.  So....tonight I am having steak, shrimp, and a bake potato on the grill...not eating a whole lot...but some.  It’s all okay....I ate it and oh well....

      Tomorrow is a new day.........
