I have been wondering what to talk about today-decided to talk about my kitchen full of new appliances and some findings that we’ve come across.

One-I’m really not enjoying the stainless steel anymore than I had imagined I would.  I don’t have the hands for polishing all of this stuff and my ever-lovin’ husband is still in the “driving me crazy” stage of having all these new items.

Luckily I am a freelance writer-he has me following the 14 year old lab mix around and wiping up her drool all over the downstairs.  Does that sound like a fun job or what???

Next, he comes home and no longer kisses me hello.  Nope, he heads straight for each appliance and eyes them from top to bottom to see if any of them need tending too.

Lord, help me.  He does this with every new thing we’ve ever purchased.  Lasts for weeks.  Or until I blow up-which ever comes first.

Back to the rundown.  The dishwasher-cleans beautifully, but the flatware basket was not made with my particular pieces in mind.  The holes are too narrow.  I’m adjusting.  Plus, no place to put my dishwasher safe pots and pans!  Isn’t that nice?  But everything it does hold comes out sparkling!

Guess you can’t have everything.

The new stove.  You know how when your timer goes off or when the oven is up to temp a buzzer goes off?  My doesn’t-it plays me a song.  No kidding-a song.  That’s not only different, but nice.  Never much cared for the buzzer.  And while I haven’t actually baked a quick bread or cookies yet, it has been terrific on my roasted veggies, chicken and fish.  Loving the stove too-I can simmer with the best of Thermador owners, I think.

The micro has this warmer feature.  Very nice-uses radiant heat.  Aside from that-I’ve warmed some tummy-tamer tea and a high fiber tortilla.  After my husband stops fussing, I’ll try the popcorn setting.  And if I’m ever in the mood to feed my grandsons some type of frozen kids meal-I’ve got 3 special settings for that.   Imagine?

Now the refrigerator.  Wow, LED lights.  Icemaker in the door with a see-through basket.  Oh-most important (I’m sure if I still had teenagers I’d appreciate this feature more though)if the fridge or freezer is open to long-it beeps at me to inform me I’d better close it-NOW!

Tonight-I’m throwing caution to the wind with a pot of water for pasta.  It better not boil over on my “super boil” setting or both of us will be in trouble.

Love it
