I have worked really hard trying to get my business out there.  I’m not sure if I havent given it enough time, if I’m going about it all wrong, or if my business idea isnt as good as I think it is.  I havent really lost my motivation, but it’s getting harder to hang onto it.  I’m teaching myself how to use tools online, reading everything in sight on marketing.  All I’m getting in feedback is automatic responses to my postings, etc. Just when I think I have a “real person” interested, it’s just a bot...tongue out....I guess what I would like is to know if my business is basically a silly thought to most people or if it is something that’s needed out there.  I’m not fishing for compliments here, I truly want to know your thoughts.

Thanks

Gail

    • Gail one of our other members has a service such as this. I say press on. I think it has merit. Many baby boomers have elderly parents who live alone. Having a regular call to them gives peace of mind.

    • Oh someone has a service like this?  I researched for a long time and only came across automated type services.  I’m trying now to get my site out there.  It’s not easy.  Thank you so much for your comment.

    • Gail, there would have to be room for more than one of this kind. I am a candlemaker, and I have a ton of competition. Just figure out what makes you stand out.

    • Well, right now its getting the word/site out there.  It’s exhausting.  I just needed feedback  on what you all thought about it.  I appreciate it.

    • Wow!  Reassurance is so needed. I want to check your site out...did I miss it in the blog comments?  Okay...I scrolled back up and couldn’t find it.  I have a friend who promoted her company by giving gift certificates to a lot of charity galas for their silent auctions (different product, but she got lots of traction from the exposure and new clients) Post your website!  Blessings!

    • I have learned over the weekend that the main issue over my business seems to be "trust".  I spoke with a small businesss counselor and told her at the very beginning that I didnt know how to get people to trust that I meant what I said on my website, that I or real, etc.  She said once they talk to you they will figure that out.  I dont think it will get that far because all I have to fall back on is work and person references.  sigh

    • I am thinking the people most interested in this would be the “sandwich generation“.  Individuals who have children and parents that rely on them.  I have been working with a lady at the small business assoc. here but I think  I need to try something different.  She has had me posting in blogs and that sort of thing.  I sure dont want to feel like a pain in the behind and that’s what it makes me feel like!  I was getting pretty discouraged last night and I dont want to feel that way....so I think I will try to find someone in marketing to help me out.  Thank you for your comment.

    • thanks....  here it is:  heartsease-calls.com

I’d love feedback on the type services I’m offering. I appreciate anything and can take negative comments as well.  Is it needed?  Would you consider such a thing for a family member?
      Thank you so much.

    • it is always soothing to know someone cares enough to call and check on someone you love and when you build a solid trusting and close relationship with a client and their family that’s when your reputation soars, and it might take a while but people with, “by word of mouth” goes a long way in a community and is better advertising sometimes than a newspaper ad...
when i did sales and marketing years ago, that is how i built my client-base, referrals from my current customers and it really works....
