Okay, so I guess I should introduce myself.

I am a newbie here.  I am trying to think of just how I found this place.  You know, you can be surfin, and walah a new place will just appear before your eyes. I think I was on my facebook page and came across it somehow.  In anycase, I am really glad I did.

Ok,  So,  YAY !!!!  I have 5 new friends here so far.  I can’t wait to make more.

abit about me.

I am 45, just turned 45. I like to think of myself as a “coat of many colors ”  Every day is a new day for me, and a challenge. I have issues, ladies... lol but what 45 year old woman, menopausal, married 23 years to my husband who in January retired from the US Navy after serving 24 active duty years, doesn’t Ya know. We-  nooo scratch that ... I had 4 children, yes that’s right ladies, All by myself. ( Well, its true, he was never home. )  2 beautiful girls, and 2 very rambunctious boys.  The 2 girls have grown up, and met the men of their dreams, and have made me Memaw 3 times now. I have 2 incredible grandson’s, and 1 lil tinkerbell grandaughter.

My 2 boys, ( ahh heck, I guess I can give the ole man some of the credit now. )are still growing up, and will be home for atleast 6 more years. And Hopefully, by that time, none of the others are trying to “move” back in..

So, no empty nest in the near future for me yet. Now, since this is supposed to be about me.... I will tell you straight up, I am not very good at english  writing, but, I will try my best. Just one little thing, I have a small addiction .....

I am addicted to commas and periods. lol... thats so funny now that I think on it, since I am menopausal....

Ack,   so please, if you just can’t read my blog, because my writing is so bad, send me a note, and tell me I am slackin .

One last thing.

I am sure you all know this month is Breast Cancer Month. If you read this, and haven’t made a donation, please do so.  When you have been touched from any kind of Cancer, wether it be family or just dear friends, it really breaks your heart to loose anyone to this dreadful disease.  Since I have titled this New Friends, I want to make this first Blog in My very Dearest Friends Honour.

Robyn

Robyn Passed away Sept 3, 2008 She was a dear friend that I met thru the internet.  We became fast friends and were a great support to eachother thru many hard times.

In March 2008 she found out she had Colon Cancer, it was supposed to be easy.  The Docs told her, its no big deal, we’ll do Chemo and You’ll be fine.

July, they discovered that the Chemo didn’t work, and she wasn’t fine.  She was Terminal, and only had 4 to 8 weeks left. I went to see her in August, spent 3 days with her, and hated having to leave.

She went downhill rapidly after that trip. She went to heaven peacefully ....

Tomorrow she will be gone for a month, and I miss her so much. I want to pick up the phone and call her, or send her a message.  In 6 months she went from a happy Woman to a dying woman.

I .. just... miss her.

So, because I know she would not want me to sit around bawling my eyes out for her, She would want me to get up, shake myself off, and get on with it.In short-

Finding new friends.

    • Meshell,  I am so sorry for your loss.  Whether it’s family or friend, I know how hard it is to loose someone close to you.  The period of mouring, recovery, etc, is different for everyone but I pray that you will find comfort from friends and family and of course, your Heavenly Father.  Hang in there and welcome to Fab40.

    • Hi Meshell, I too am sorry about your loss. I know your friend is dancing with the angels right now. I have three grandsons ages 3, 1 1/2, and 3 months, (Yes my oldest son was busy) LOL. But I want to grow old and watch them grow up. So I believe it is important to get yourself checked regularly. Thanks for sharing your story.
