I am going to Joplin Missouri to pick up my new foster dog.  Yes, that is what I said, a foster dog.  She is a chinese crested named Josee.  She is a hairless dog and is about 7 years old.  I don’t have any history on her yet but I am sure we will fall in love with her.  This will be my 3rd foster dog since joining Crest Care.  I have so enjoyed fostering and helping out God’s 4 legged creatures.  I will post pictures once she gets here.

    • I can’t wait to see Josee! She’s lucky to have a mommy that is excited to have her company. What a happy holiday you will both have.estatic

    • Dear Kat007,

How excited I am for you. A couple of months ago I had Sheeba and when her owners claimed her after two months I was heart broken. My FAB40 sisters suggested I go to the local Animal Shelter for another puppy I resisted at first but the day before Thanksgiving I got Scotia, “scoti” for short. She is so loving and energetic.

But I would never want to be a foster mother to children, letting Sheeba go almost killed me.

Once again I’m excited for you.

    • Congratulations.  I am an animal lovers.  I currently have 9 puppies to take care of.  They are all 4 weeks old.

I don’t understand the foster part.  I’ve been foster parents but for animals?  Do you need to return them?  What is the condition and odds and ends?  Can you tell me more?

    • I can hardly wait to go get her.  It is a lot of fun since hairless dogs wear clothes.  I like putting on their pajamas.  If they don’t wear clothes they get too cold or they sunburn.

    • Hi Chinadoll,
We rescue dogs that are in abusive or neglectful situations and nurse them back to health.  We train them to be trusting of humans, we housebreak them if possible and just shower them with lots of love.  We then try to find a good home for them that will love them for the rest of their lives.  It is quite rewarding and at the same time hard because you can definitely fall in love with the dog.  It is hard to give them up but if you know they are going to a good home it isn’t nearly as hard.  It is so sad how some are mistreated.
