Seems just yesterday I was trying to get all the W-2s,1099s and various other tax forms filled out and filed with all sorts of government entities. I found a mistake. Had not filed the state form so was able to deposit mistake $ and try to figure the penalty and interest myself. Hah! Cannot be done unless you have various degrees-at least one of them in accounting or advanced tax preparation. Finished all by end of January. Two weeks later get notice of additional interest and penalty due. Paid it promptly.(Did I stress I am an RN-never took a business class in my life, wait I did, freshman year of high school.)

Next day, just thinking, how in the world do famous(term used loosely)people or people in public office of any sort not pay taxes and not get caught until years after the fact?
Crazy huh? If I,a RN for 23 years, farm secretary for 17 years can get this done and almost right-why can’t the muckity muks? We do use an accountant to file tax returns-personal and business, due to depreciation on farm equipment, etc...

 Just saying.............tongue out

    • I didn’t want to open this and read it because of the title....

I no longer attempt to do our own and if the cpa’s make mistakes ...... well it’s on them mainly. Since I give them exact info and numbers....

As for the celebrities I think they can just afford better cpa’s....
