Love poetry and love poets can make a difference in the world!

Often, love poetry is just glanced over, ignored or even discarded. Sometimes it is simply regarded as nonsense, or pure mush. Love poets are often treated with a lack of respect, by others in literary circles.

This is unfortunate, because we live in a world that is hurting, in so many ways.

In the year 2009, I would really like to see love poetry come to the forefront, in the literary world. Love poets can unite as one voice and cause that to happen.

Everone needs to hear the message of love.

If you are a love poet, you can make a major contribution to the literary world. Write some new love poetry! Publish your work, every time that you have an opportunity to do so. Read it to others. Send it out in your e-mails.

If you are a love poet, you have been given a very special gift to share. Let others celebrate the gift of love too!

Write on, love poet!

    • Hey there chinadoll,

How are you? I want to wish you a blessed and happy New Year!

You asked me about rhyme, with regard to love poetry.

Not all love poetry is written in rhyme, nor does it have to be. Many love poets write in rhyme, but there are others who choose to write in free verse.

Free verse has no distinct structure, or form. It may not have any rhyme at all. Sometimes poetry seems to be more like prose. Often it is written like sayings of various kinds.

When you have a moment, listen to music and you will hear love poetry being sung. Rhyme gives it rythm and musicality.

Read the Song of Solomon in the Bible, and you find love poetry there. Every culture in the world has its own unique poetry and love poetry. Your country has love poetry too.

A poet is a person who writes poetry. A love poet writes poetry about love. A poet creates verses that are usually quite imaginative and expressive. Being able to write poetry is a gift.

I hope that this answers your questions.

God bless and have a wonderful day!

    • Thank you and yes it helps.

We have two styles of poet: one is called the traditional and it needs to sort of rhyme.  It is a strict format.  Either 5 words, 7 or 9 words in each phrase.

Then there is a modern or free flow form - like the one you mentioned.

      Thank you for your clarification.

Poet helps for I need not worry too much about tense and grammar, I think.

    • Hi chinadoll,

Write something that would be typical of your kind of love poetry for me to read.
