I remember the episode of Sex & the City when Miranda’s new housekeeper came across her battery operated boyfriend in her nightstand drawer. Being a Christian woman, the housekeeper Magda replaced BOB with the the Virgin Mary!
Unlike Miranda, i do not have a BOB in my nightstand drawer. There is very little else missing in there, though. I can lotion my hands, relieve several different pains, pull my hair up into a clip, cut paper, cut my cuticles, cut my nails, file my nails, sew a button, shop for make-up, relieve a stuffy nose, relieve chapped lips, add/subtract/divide/multiply (on 3 different electronic machines), look up a friend’s address, play any card game, satisfy a sweet craving, freshen my breath, write a note to a friend, write a reminder to myself and stick it to something, write a check, floss my teeth, read a book, write a journal entry, learn about local wineries, retrieve e-files, and reminisce over pictures all from my nightstand drawer.
What can you do from your nightstand drawer?
That’s one heck of a drawer. If you were ever stuck in your house for a length of time, you just might be able to live in your room and survive just fine, daphne. I’m impressed.
Gosh the only thing I have in mine is a glass holder for a candle, a lighter to light a candle, a broken little glass slipper that my grand daughter pulled apart, some eye drops, an asthma inhaler and a scrunchie for my hair.
i don’t have a nightstand, however, i have a drawer in my dresser.. it does not have a BOB, but has a bunch of pony ties, batteries, scissors, glue sticks, sewing thread, buttons, needles, a deck of harley davidson playing cards, new tooth brushes, and makeup! lol
Um, I kind of have Miranda’s drawer. Except it’s not a drawer (more like a box with a locking apparatus) and my BOB has lots of friends.
My nightstand itself doesn’t have drawers, but on the table top is my jewelry box, a coaster (and typically a diet coke), whatever book I’m reading and a pair of tweezers.
You saw the tweezers coming, didn't you?
Tweezers should only be permitted to be purchased by a professional.
I swear that I only use them in case of tweezing emergency.
(most of the time I use the ones in my office desk...)
What a new but interesting concept! I love it...I am going to have to start a chain letter to all my friends....“Get to know your girl friends...What do you keep in your bedside night stand?” LOL...I had to actually get up from the computer to see what was in mine..Mine has two drawers....I know pretty much what is in one of them...the BOB and accessories...but wasn’t sure about the other one....I found a large bundle of pens, an empty wallet, 4 calculators, a pack of pictures from last Christmas, 6 tubes of lotion, 4 notes pads, an harmonica, vapor rub, Hercules Hooks, journals, chapstick, tissue, several magazines and several Oprah Book club books....now maybe I need to go do some cleaning out!
Top of mine-bible and paperback books. Bottom of mine-BOB, lube and the ballcaps I tossed in there when my stepson visited and slept in our room.
BTW, BOB has had several predecessors. There’s a dilemma-how do you dispose of old, broken BOBs? Can’t really just toss ‘em in the trash!!

Okay Feathermaye...I am getting a little nervous as we might be twins or at least very similar. My BOB is in a box with friends and attachments though not locked. :) And my nightstand is a little shelving unit but on top of it is my jewlery box, a coaster, a bottle of water or a diet coke, a pen, pad of paper, whatever books I am reading, book flags, kleenex, lotion, burts bee chapstick and a bottle of migraine medicine.
BOB sits proudly in the top drawer and the batteries are in the middle drawer. As I’m writing this I giggled as I don’t know why they are in separate drawers!!??
Wow...daphne...your nightstand drawer sounds like mine..I can’t name all that I have in there...it would be better to tell what I DON‘T have in there...hey, at least I know where everything is..lol

My BOB is sitting in my lingerie chest because hubby won’t let him come out and play...(He doesn’t even know BOB still exists...lol)

I keep eye cream in my night stand drawer and clears for eyes If I feel them irritated, I also keep mints, nail file, linen spray for my sheets when I make up my bed each day, I spray with linen spray I love rose or Plumeria (in between weekly changes), I have noodle and Boo hand lotion and Thayers Rose Witch hazel and cotton swabs to swab my face if I want to freshen up. I dont have Floss what a good idea Daphne !
I also have a bible and a box full of real four leaf clovers my daughter picked for me when she was four.
Ok Ladies who is bob? I have a box with little dragonflies on it and a book and a flashlight.

Bless you....but I have to admit I didn’t have a BOB until last year...OH my gosh...how did I ever get along without him all these years??? Every healthy, vibrant, fantastic woman, (especially those over 40 who need the extra help) should have one...or two or three...LOL God bless pureromance! If you haven’t been to a party then you need to host one!
My drawers have clothes, on top of the nightstand I have a basket with books, pens, scissors, lotion, creams, lip conditoners, nail oil, gloves and socks to sleep in.. telephone, remotes, and mini-lantern.
This is MY OPINION ONLY—if young women were introduced to Bob earlier, maybe there’d be less teen pregnancy. Again, IMHO only!!!!

I can’t help but agree with you...the only thing is living in the southern bible belt you can imagine the taboo that comes along with any mention of a BOB!...talk about mixed up identities for girls...bless our hearts we go through most of our lives thinking the s word is bad!!!
Interesting comment...BUT...don’t you think that early sexual activity is more about “love” and acceptance than a physiological need or desire?
Sometimes it’s just the hormones...it was in my case! I’m not saying it would curb it, it’s just an interesting thought.
Ok I have to confess, I have a rare condition “extra sensitive ” and a multiple and why I dont have a BOB.. Id have to be hog tied and gagged, Id break it.

Ha Empower.. its really true. I have a rare condition Im a multiple O and WOULD and do break BOB’s and men have alot of trouble.. at first they love it.. but, eventually they start to get headaches. Thank goodness Im a one man woman, and am very picky in mates.
