With all of the negative economic news, and everyone focusing on elections, no one really has time for anything else, but what about our health? Our well-being?

I know that every time I turn on the news and hear one more gloomy report about our economy, I feel all stressed out and bent out of shape. This morning I was on the phone with my girlfriend bitching and venting....yah I know it's not October 1st yet, but what the heck, I might as well practice.

My friend too complained that she doesn't remember the last time she read about anything else but politics, economic and natural disasters. So after I hung up the phone I decided to gather some of the latest news that has to do with our health.

Here are a few that are worth passing on:

 midlife

When I was about eighteen I remember my gynecologist telling me about talc. At the time I thought he was nuts. When my daughters were born I remembered his warnings and stayed away from the baby powder. Now twenty five years later, Scientists fear particles applied to the private parts may travel to the ovaries and trigger a process of inflammation that allows cancer cells to flourish,

How much chocolate is good for my health? Well...I know the answer to this one....NOT ENOUGH...it's never enough chocolate if you ask me..
But here is the good news :

A Chocolate Bar A Day Keeps the Doctor Away
It gets better actually, it's not one chocolate bar, but two that do the trick, honestly isn't this the best news you've heard all week?

I know that most of us can't survive without our cell phones and blackberries, but PLEASE don't ignore that Studies have indicated that long-term cell phone use may be associated with brain cancer

Are hot flashes driving you crazy? Hang in there just a little longer,
New drug for menopause is being tested

By now we have all heard about the benefits of yoga.

But did you now that it can transform your sex life? and more Powerful Orgasms

If you recently read something about women’s health that was worth the read,

    • How true Yana,
We all seem to be in a twist about who to vote for, how to manage our dwindling funds (especially since I was laid off the day job Friday), but we’ve forgotten about health issues.
I’ve been writing health articles for a local newspaper since March-I’ve learned fascinating things-some apply to me, others do not, but we all need to focus on what matters-the health of ourselves and our families.  If we don’t have that-we are in bigger trouble than we could possibly imagine

    • I’m going to say something that may sound kind of airy fairy but here goes. I believe there is something important that goes on when a group of people create a collective consciousness of sorts. We don’t all have to agree on everything but when we all have the same good intentions, something magical happens.

Long way to the point but I’m talking about girlfriends. We women have a lot more power in the world than we may realize. And, we have the power to taylor the world around us to meet our needs.

Pretty big ideas from a little shrimpenheimer who lives on a rock in the middle of the ocean, huh?

But really this website is a tremendous forum for us to gather together, from all over the globe, and talk about issues pertinent to us, to come up with solutions to problems, to alert one another to potentially harmful elements approaching - we have a wonderful opportunity here! Our fingers are on the world’s pulse! So, let’s continue to commiserate!

Sorry for the la de da, I spent last evening sitting at a table next to our Philosophy teacher!

    • Amen! When the reality check sets in that no individual person is going to change our lives but own selves we begin to get a picture of the power we hold as a collective. The President may have some influence, but we have more. I want to see things improve for broken families, so I work with single and married moms with young children. I have a friend who works with homeless men, he wants to see them get a vision for their lives.

What are you passionate about seeing happpen in your life and the lives of others? Well, Nike may have said it best. “Just do it!” And let us in on it when you do! ;o)

      Blessings all you wonderful women!

I have to admit that I couldn’t wait til Oct. 1...I was so fed up and frustrated, so I blogged about it. It does feel good to “put it somewhere“. I feel better already! ;)

    • P.S.
Anyone wonder what happened to my picture? Well, I had tried to replace it temporarily, lost it and couldn’t find it again or the one I wanted to replace it with. So, I got frustrated, and decided a glass of wine would help my attitude, and there she was... “Dana” with a glass of wine! LOL!

    • I looked back at Yana’s post and it occurred to me that a glass of wine, a chocolate bar and a powerful orgasm, that would make any woman feel better!

    • LOL @ Dana! I have to agree with both you and Cynthia.
I am still envisioning us doing a mastermind group! There are some positive, powerful personalities here.. and God connected us for a reason!
Health is one of my biggest passions (aside from the ones Dana listed above LOL).
We can make a difference - we can turn the tide. Being armed with an education, and applying the truth will set us free from the bondage of the sickness care system... and empower us to follow our dreams while those who choose not to listen and take action sit back and watch us.
Chocolate, wine, and a happy spirit (starts with a good sex life, doesn’t it?) are important keys to good health.

      Sharing Hope,
      Dee Dee
