So here we are at another Christmas season, and guess what? I’m not that into it this year. Why I have not a clue. I’ve done no shopping for anyone, my hubby did all the shopping for our granddaughter, the girls will get cash as for myself and my hubby we waiting till after the holiday.  I’m not as excited about holidays anymore, not sure if its my old age kicking in or what, but I’m not in an uproar about any thing as far as holidays, the only thing I do get excited about is my birthday. I look forward to it yearly. I’m not depressed or anything I just don’t care to celebrate holidays anymore. I spent Thanksgiving with my siblings and their kids the whole family was together and we had a ball, my hubby and I just had dinner last week with his family and had a ball. I’m so looking forward to the year 2013 because I’m making so more drastic changes in my life. I’m going to get real with “me” and get this weight off as Fantasia says in her song “I’m Doing Me!“it may sound a bit selfish but 2013 will be mostly about “Neicy!” I have given all I can give to so many for so long, but it’s my time now. I have left so many things for me undone because of putting others first, not anymore. So I say to all Merry Christmas and look out world because Neicy is unleashing a new me! estatic

    • Neicy I’m just not into it either. I’m still not sure if it’s because the people out shopping are stomping all over my joy, my hormones or what!
I keep trying to shake it off.......

So you go ahead and make it all about you! You certainly deserve it heart

    • I agree completely, Neicy..can not figure out why my enthusiasm is less and less each year, suppose maybe the reality of life sets in and the fun sometimes needs to be re-charged.

So glad to hear that 2013 will be big for you, grab it with both hands!heart

    • For me it’s the contrary. I haven’t celebrated in 2 years now, and this year I really wanted-needed to get into the spirit.

But my father-in-law died suddenly last Friday at the age of 53 in a foreign country; therefore my hubby is gone to get his things and bring back the body to France. He was suppose to come back last night but his flight got canceled. I haven’t been able to reach him since so I have no clue when he is coming home. Same thing for my father-in-law’s body- it’s lost in an administrative world between two countries, so no clue when the funeral will be.

When I got home after work today I found my cat all bruised and bloody walking only three legs; don’t know if its leg is broken because he won’t let me near it. frown

Doesn’t seem I’ll be able to have somekind of a holiday season this year too...heartbreak Sorry for babbling.

Hope 2013 will bring new and good things to all of you! Very happy for you Neicy. happy

    • It’s the contrary for me too.  I have little kids so I think their enthusiasm for Christmas is contagious.  Also, this will be the first years in MANY MANY years that we‘re getting together with the Lopez side (my side) to celebrate Christmas and we will have other relatives with us who have never ever celebrated a holiday with us.  I’m looking forward to it.

Plus I have a long break to look forward to. estatic

Hope all of you ladies have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

      Diane

    • ohhhhWOW ladies, I thought I was in this alone, not that it makes it any better, and I’m sorry to hear that you all are feeling the same, but I too feel it could have something to do with the coming of aging lol. But trust me 2013 is going to be ALL about me, thanks ladies. I hope things turn around for the best for you all as well.heart

    • I think age has a lot to do with not being as fired up for holidays.  Sort of a “been there done that... over and over” attitude creeps in.

Usually I throw myself into baking and decorating.  This year, it’s not so much that I don’t want to, I just can’t find the time or the energy.  There’s just been too much other “stuff” going on.

    • I agree that age may have to do with the feeling of not being so excited about the holidays. Sometimes the buying of gifts for family and friends becomes a chore instead of a fun thing. However, the Christmas tree and many wonderful cards from family and friends reminds me that it’s going to be a lovely holiday season.

Neicy, I’m wishing you all the best in 2013! heart

    • Look out world, here comes the new and improved Neicy!!! Sometimes Niecy you have to be a bit selfish and take care of you. Although I wouldn’t consider it selfish at all.
I’ll have you in my thoughts ladybug.
