...to lose weight. To say I have been under the weather these past two days would be a gross understatement. Yesterday, I was wishing I was under ground. Our family (yes the whole family) was struck by a horrendous virus. It seems to be worse the older you are.
Sweet little Victoria (3) would run to the toilet, and come out singing. She has never missed a beat. The other younger children are pretty bouncy, and didn't really have any other symptoms besides throwing up. The older children have been sicker, with headaches, and general flu like symptoms. Me however - every cell in my body was under attack. I have no recollection of ever hurting this bad.
Our family is so very rarely sick. I guess that will teach me to not let the children run out of supplements, and be a looming reminder for me to take mine more faithfully. When life gets really busy, I sometimes miss a day. Rarely does that stretch much further, because my old achy symptoms return when they get out of my system. For the past couple of weeks I have let my aches and pains be my reminder, and have been inconsistent. No more! I don’t think I’ll forget what I have been through any time soon.
I guess the upside is I lost 5 pounds. 5 pounds in less than 48 hours is NOT the way to lose weight! And, my stomach muscles got a work-out. I am actually sore.
Probably TMI. lol  I am glad to be back among the living. And realizing how much I really miss having my husband here. I have had to be ‘strong’ for him, but I wasn’t today. We are counting down the days until he gets to come home!

    • I’ve been on the tea and Vitamin C routine for about a week. This cold keeps trying to come on, but I am winning the battle-so far.

    • You can send that virus to my house—I’d like to lose weight anyway I can! :)

Seriously, I do hope you feel better soon.  Got any leftover turkey for some soup?

    • I am never sick too....but yesterday I felt like s#*t all day.  I thought it was a hangover because we went out Saturday night (first time in a long time and had a great time at a toys of tots benefit).  But the so called hangover lasted all day into the evening.  Went to bed at 6:30pm after being in the bed or couch all day.  I said to my husband...I don’t think this is STILL my hangover!!!  Well...I feel better today and overly rested.  I woke up at 2 AM and started laundry, cleaned out a cabinet or two, (hard to to quietly!!) and thought I better catch up with my friends here!
I hope you are feeling better Happymomma!

    • Thanks all. I am weak, but much better. A thoughtful neighbor brought us over a fruit basket yesterday afternoon (not knowing we were sick.) I was able to eat a few grapes, and the kids devoured the rest. Saturday is usually my shopping day, so our pantry was bare. None of us were feeling up to cooking anything.
Luke, who proclaimed last night that he never gets sick, woke me up running to the bathroom at about 2am. He seems fine this morning. Now to wash all the sheets and rid ourselves of the buggies.
      Bev,
I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. I was inspired this morning to finally measure myself. I have been ‘going to’ for a long time, but could never get a ‘roundtoit‘. I suprised myself -pleasantly. I’m going to post about it in my LFL group.
      Lucinda,
We have a product called ImmunoStart that typically gives us the edge to fight off anything. However, it blindsided us, and since we haven’t been consistent with our supplements for the past couple of weeks, it left us wide open for attack. Lesson Learned!
      Dennie,
Hopefully you fought off whatever it was. I know supplements help. I am sure you doubled up! There are some nasty viruses floating around. Glad to hear you hit the floor running. Having been on a mandated fast for 2 days, I am still a little weak, but I just finished off my shake so I am looking for a boost of energy.

    • Good girl!!!  Keep drinking fluids.  Your body has to work so hard when you are dehydrated.  And yes.. I pushed the supplements in me..the first thing I did!  If I was close by I would make you up a pot of my famous turkey and rice soup with my turkey bones I have in the freezer from Thanksgiving.  I did go back to bed this morning around 5:00 and got some more sleep in.  My husband said, “what are you doing???” in his puzzled voice....lol.ohhhh
