I should be packing, but the most recent box I put together is now inhabited by Lexie, my precious, chubby little 8-year old kitten. So all packing has come to a halt until Lexie decides she’s tired of sitting in the box.
At first she was freaked out by all the packing, and taping of boxes, and taking down of wall art. But today I got some Fancy Feast to pack, and put it on the floor by my suitcase, and I think she “gets” it now. I think she understands that on this trip, she’s coming with me!
My bird Kirby has to get used to a new bird carrier for the trip, so I’ve been putting it right next to her condo (that’s bird for “cage“) so she can get used to it. Surprisingly, while she doesn’t adore it, she does find it interesting. Especially since I put some Cheerios in the dish that’s in there.
I was expecting an enormous hassle to get my electricity turned on in another state - I totally was getting ready to fax my life’s history to them - but who knew? All I had to do was fill out a short form on their website, and they‘re going to turn on my electricity.
I’m amazed at how much I thought would be a horrible project is turning out to be SOOO much easier and hassle-free than I thought. The movers gave me an estimate, and they are going to pack my stuff up and just drive until they hit New Hampshire! No storing it and waiting for others to go in that direction, no waiting. In fact, they‘re going to get there before me, and I’m flying!
So all I can say is, Thank You, Universe. My gratitude is overflowing.
And my kitteh is cute. I’d put a picture of her on here, but I packed the camera.
(Coralee and Angel, I’ve decided to take the trip to Amarillo to visit my husband’s grave before I leave. Thank you so much for your support. I know Mike isn’t in that grave, I know only the body he left behind is there, but it would feel good to go to the grave and just meditate for a little while on how much we loved each other.)
So, it’s New England or bust. And thank heaven for Facebook because I can keep up with my BFFs.
Love you all, my Fab40 sisters!
Suzann, That’s wonderful that you‘re going to visit Mike’s grave. (I used to live in Amarillo too 1994-1997) I wish you a very stress-free move. What town are you moving to? New Hampshire is so beautiful. Take care, Anne
P.S. We love you too!
Thanks, Anne! Oh my gosh, you lived in Amarillo. I love that song “Amarillo By Morning” sung by George Strait. How was your experience there?
I’m moving to the Lakes Region. It is really beautiful. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in New England, but I do feel like I’m going home.
Amen to that Suzann. I pray things continue to run smoothly for you.
I am so glad that everything is working out well in your move! Isn’t it great that when things are meant to be how effortlessly things falls into place? Best weishes on your move!
Mary
What a cute and heartfelt story, I am so happy that you went to his grave, I think he might be your guardian angle so he sees you and hears you all the time, and it does please him when you visit his grave. My kitty likes it her and my dog, has always lived her so moving would be something I couldn’t do but you are going to be happier then you have ever been. Your friend, Darlene
Hi Suzann, I used to work at the Pantex Plant. No one has heard of it out here! What were you doing in Amarillo?
P.S. I love my cats too!
Thanks so much, Fab Sisters. I love your comments.
Anne - the Pantex Plant! Wow. My husband was from Amarillo, so I go there to visit his grave and see his parents. But yes, I remember the Pantex Plant. We were convinced that was where “they” were going to aim first when (whoever ‘they’ is) got their bomb aimed at us.
