I’m so EXCITED! I love NYC and I’m going with three girlfriends for the weekend 12/11. I haven’t been since two months after September 11th. Back then I walked the perimiter of Ground Zero. Seven years later - I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with the area.

Anyone have ideas on what else is new in the past seven years that I need to check out?

    • Have a great time. Someday I will make it to NY. And yes if you see a show see Wicked. It is awesome!! It was at the Pantages in LA for a bit, think it is gone now.

    • You have to walk 5th avenue and see the store windows.  I think they still have Christmas scenes depicted in them.  If not what the heck go ahead and step inside and shop till you drop.  You of course will want to see the giant Christmas tree in Rockefeller Plaza.  You might even be able to get tickets to see the Christmas show at Rockefeller center.  I am going home to NY for Thanksgiving but I’m just going to absorb the love and hugs of family.  I doubt I will have time to take in any of the sights and sounds that make NY unique.  I know you will enjoy yourself.  Take lots of pictures and do share.

    • Manhattan is my favorite place to be.  It’s an hour by train for me, so I go in as often as possible.

If going to see a show I reccomend Mamma Mia and Jersey Boys.

Ground Zero has not changed much.  If you never toured the church across the strret with all the remembrances for 9/11 you have to go there.

Great steak restaurant we discovered a couple years back still a favorite, Dillon Prime.  Amazing for, great service and interesting/cool decor.

I have a tendancy to get on the subway get off at a stop and just explore.  There is just too much fun to have to stay in the touristy sections.

      Enjoy!!

    • With 4 ladies, I hope we can all decide to do similar things or we may split off. I enjoy just walking - not sure if everyone else feels the same way. I will probably take some time to be alone and walk around by myself.
