Did you think Obama's math was faulty? I don't know about you, but the numbers the President talked about in his State of the Union Address just didn't add up in my mind. Obama firmly believes that if he freezes—that's right, freezes not cuts—some programs,  $20 billion dollars will be realized  and he will be responsible for making everything all right or at least for putting the U.S .on a strong footing toward fiscal responsibility. BUNK!!

In the same breath, he called for an immediate Jobs Bill which, to you and me, is just another stimulus. The last stimulus cost over three quarters of a trillion dollars. So:  $750 Billion minus $20 Billion leaves . . .? Just who does he think he is kidding? And he is still pushing ahead with the 1.5 trillion dollar Health Care fiasco, proposing forgiving billions in student loans, and  . . . I could go on but Obamanomics give me agida.

In just those few things I have named, we are looking at increasing the deficit by two—maybe three—trillion over the next few years while saving twenty billion a year if Obama really does what he says. Where is this money coming from? All the monies paid out for the Bush give-a-way fiasco called T.A.R.P. have been paid back with interest and the funds are sitting in the Fed burning a hole in Barrack Obama's, Nancy Pelosi's, and other Lefties' pockets. All they want to do is spend it and more.

How about paying down our debt? Did that ever occur to any one on the left in Congress?  How about cutting spending on ALL government programs? And how about suspending some programs, like Congressional pay increases, for a year or two so that the Government coffers wouldn't be quite so empty.  Look, if Congress can demand that the fat-cat bankers delay or reject bonuses, then it is only right that Congress should set the example of no raises, no pork, period.

It is time that Congress showed true fiscal responsibility and started paying for every program that they pass and that that they stopped feeding their bellies more pork. It is time for Congress to rein in the spending and stop creating more entitlement give-a-way programs. The U.S.A. is in real financial trouble. Now is the time to do something about it before Peking Duck becomes a staple at the White House.

    • Amen!  I couldn’t agree more.  If he wants to freeze spending he needs to freeze ALL and I mean absolutely ALL spending.

As I understand it, his silly little freeze will only affect 8 percent of the entire budget.  How ridiculous is that?

    • Hi Annie 123 - Thanks so much for your comment - remember November is still a long way off so don’t lose your resolve over the next few months. But mostly keep on voicing just what you think.

Hi Tuliplady - Many thanks for your comments. You are right on target. This freeze does nothing. And it is the most ridiculous tactic, I think, an Administration has ever used.

YOU GO GIRLS - keep on thinking and vocalizing your opinions. Don’t ever betray your convictions no matter if they are right or left. Stand up for what you believe and, if you don’t mind, keeep reading Quackin Duck. Check out my website. Thanks so much for your comments.

    • AMEN TO EVERYTHING YOU SAID!!!!

Just to add...the student loan forgiveness program is just another way for the government to control you for 10-20 years???  Please.....and who is going to pay for that?

And my other issue is wanting to try the 911 murderers in New York! As I have stated before...that is like taking a rapist back to where he raped his victims and dragging along his victims to watch the trial and to testify.....how awful!!!!!  Not to mention the money that would be spent!  New York deserves better! This country deserves better!
I for the life of me cannot understand...why you would even THINK of doing this when there are military bases that can handle this.  We are already paying them...why not utilize their facility and man power than putting citizens at risk and costing the taxpayers more money...that in reality..WE DON‘T HAVE!  He obviously FAILED economics!!!!

    • It’s one of those kind of days I guess.

I won’t get into the bashing but since I did vote for him and he is our current leader I feel the need to continue supporting him. I can however raise my voice about the things I disagree with to my elected local and state officials. Since supposedly they are the carriers of our voice.

No I do not agree with everything President Obama has/is doing. I can say that under the last administration I paid mighty hefty taxes and my insurance increased in huge amounts.

President Obama is no worse a human than former President Bush.

    • Thank you Annie123 and I truly look forward to the dialog. And Maryclark, Termagsea, welcome and thank all for your comments and concerned voices.

Vikki Hall you are not alone. A great many people also thought that what Obama preached he would actually deliver. That’s why he is President and exercising your voting right is nothing to be apologetic about. Please realize that this isn’t bashing. We too support the President of the United States but realize that he just needs to know that we are not happy with his programs. We the People need to tell him loud and clear as often as we can and hopefully soon he will listen.

    • Lexyduck I wasn’t “taken” by what Obama said. I believe them all with a grain of salt. It’s always the actions that speak louder. And only time will tell.....

    • Me, too. All this money going out just scares the living daylights out of me. Something occured to me this morning. We owe a lot of money to China. China is the manufacturer of nearly all of our goods. A lot of the American people would prefer not to buy from China. If manufacturing here started up again, we could do without some of the things from China. BUT! What if China put the pressure on our government and said ” we own a lot of your country’s debt. You‘re not going to effect our country by buying less from us OR ELSE we’ll start calling those loans.”

Makes me sweat just thinking about that.

    • And as far as blame is concerned - there’s plenty to go around. Each administration “inherits” debt, policies, taxes from the previous administration. I want them to stop pointing fingers and just get to it.

    • I agree Cynthia....the whole shebang...needs to stop the finger pointing and quit the spending.

You are right...China does own us....and they can call that debt in anytime!
And where does that leave us??

This is what we get...we as a nation...for buying all of these “cheap’ goods from china...Japan...everywhere but the United States...and now our jobs are going....or heck they left years ago...and there is hardly anything left American made....now that is sad!

Washington can do more in tightening their own belts....not just the American people!
How about the government employees...federal....like all those in  Congress...the President..the V P...Pelosi....how about all of them take some fulough days....

    • There was just a news report this morning about Hillary Clinton going to China to have a hard discussion with them. I really do hope that she’s able to get something accomplished with this. This could turn into a really bad unreversible issue for the people of this country. We really really don’t want China to be creating trouble for us or our economy and I believe that government would. I don’t trust them.

    • Ladies I hate to say it but China owns the whole world - they own the UK.
It would take the UK at least 30 years to go back to home manufacturing and to get out of their debt and people can’t change their mind set that quickly.

I’m praying we have a general election this May in the UK and this mob leave - but who ever takes over will have to deal with huge debt and a bad economy
