This past Wednesday, November 9, 2011 was my one year anniversary from having my gastric bypass.  It’s been a crazy year for me but the surgery was a breeze. It was the easiest surgery I’ve ever had and I ’ve had a few. I’ve lost 78 lbs. and I feel wonderful.  I’ve learned to eat a different way and I don’t miss the old me one single bit.

I had my extensive blood work done and it all came out superb.  My cholesterol drop from 260 to 188 and that is with NOT being on any medication for one year.  My blood pressure was 120/80...perfect! All of my other stats were great! My regular doctor said “I don’t need to see you for a year...heck you don’t need a doctor.” He was very very pleased and so was I.

If I increase my exercise a bit more and increase my protein intake I should lose about 15 more lbs in the next 6 months.  It will be slower losing now but it’s okay.  If I don’t lose another lb. I am satisfied.  As long as my blood work and my health is good...I’m happy.  That was the purpose in this surgery anyway.

If you are considering weight loss surgery just make sure you research your doctor, the hospital, and study all the (4) types of weight loss surgeries.  It’s a life changing surgery and not one to take lightly.  I’m glad I had this surgery and it has given me a new lease on life.

Love it
