Well, I hear she’s up to her old tricks, but with some creativity this time. Have you heard the lyrics of her song “If You Seek Amy” from her new album “Circus?” Seems she has imbedded one of the seven FCC forbidden words into the sequence, and some folks are outraged.
“If you seek Amy” Say it and listen. Ya know, the ol’ “mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy” sort of thing. If=F, you=U, well, I think you get the picture.
Clever, maybe, not to mention headline-grabbing. But is she breaking the rules? Should it be played on the airwaves for our younger daughters and sons to “enjoy?”

And you know she could, retire, that is. With her money, she never has to work again. And she could save us all the misery of putting up with her, too.
Wouldn’t it be great if Pres Obama would change her, too? lol!
(Reminds me of a poster I saw on ESPN Gameday once. “Hoof hearted, ice melted.” It took me several minutes to figure that one out! ha!)
Teeky, that must be the worst part of all. It’s very sad for them. Hope they take advantage of some good counseling when they get a little older. They are sure gonna need it!

Chocolatier, I don’t think it was bad. I just used it as an example of a play on words, kinda like BS’s song.
I sang it continuously to my babies, too! I sure hope there’s no hidden meaning that I was passing along!

Does anyone remember Soupy Sales... well his show was live and he loved pushing the edge... he was zapped off the air 3 times... and once was for a spelling bee with Black Bear... Soupy would hold up a A and bear would say A... B and he’d say B... and so on until he got to F... bear would say K... he did that 3 times... then looked straight in the camera and said... why is it when I show you F...you see K?

linda08, I must say, that’s funny.
Of course, it was a different time in our society, and most young girls most likely didn’t understand the double meaning of Soupy’s skit. And the visual aspect softened the impact of the profane innuendos.
But today’s girls are worldlier. And hearing the lyrics with no visual gives the profanity a little more punch. I would guess the vulgar insinuation is the first thing to come to mind without something visual to provoke a different thought.
I wouldn’t want my daugher listening to it. But I don’t know if I expect it will be banned.
Oh I couldn’t agree more.... but I suspect she didn’t come up with the idea... was all I meant by it...
A lot has been said about Britney... she certainly has done a lot of things she shouldn’t.... but I recognize she is/was ill... mentally ill.... I actually don’t despise her... or wish she would go away.. she is the face of mental illness.... which has been swept under the rug too long in this country... hence the teen suicide rate and parents that never saw it coming....
I feel sorry for her... considering the pressure she was under since a very young age.... and I believe her Mother never saw it coming... it’s a lesson to learn from... while I am not sure I would want my young daughter to listen to her music... I would rather think it would initiate talks about stress and that it’s okay to seek help... those are important conversations parents need to have with kids... teenagers and beyond... and in a warped way she is a role model of what can happen... wild days and post wild days... she is attempting to put her life together... and I would encourage that.... I’m happy for her and frankly I hope she makes it.

Britany idealizes her mentor Madonna, and we all know how controversial she is.
Madonna had a video with Britany at her last concert tour. While both performers have no real talent, Madonna is smart and manages to re invent herself every decade, Britany on the other hand somehow manages to cause some kind of turmoil every few years and screw up again. The only thing I have to say is that either Madonna is a bad tutor, or Britany is a lousy student.
Britney should have just stepped out of the spotlight after she had her kids and concentrated on them and their well-being. K-fed is a waste of air, living the high life on her money while their sons are with a nanny who-knows-where.
darkgothicar, if she had listened to you, she would certainly be a lot happier in life. It’s a real shame that someone with so many resources at hand, can’t find a way to live a truly rewarding life. What we wouldn’t give to have a fraction of what she has in money, talent, creativity, etc., to make our own way in this world. We ordinary people have to find a way to make it on so much less.
She is surrounded by people profiting off of her, like K-fed, that want her to keep up this craziness for their own financial gain. And at her young age, she has no real idea of the extent to which they are taking advantage of her.
Her actions disgust me, but like linda08, I do feel sorry for her. Time will tell if she will survive this madness.

There are going to be Brittany’s every decade. Tell your kids they can’t listen to something and watch what most of them do. We spend too much time talking about what a messed up person so and so is and what should be done, but nothing ever happens. Brittany does as she pleases and we all stand around with our mouths gaped open. This is exactly what thay are wanting.I think Lu said it best the other night STOP FEEDING THE MONSTER. This is exactly what keeps it all going. I do not buy the tabloids do not watch the shows they are talking about her on and if enough of us did that, that might change something. I guess I just do not get it? They want to be famous and get attention and when they do they make a big deal of no privacy. If privacy is what you want then don’t do what you are doing! DUH!!We just fuel the fire.

I believe one explanation is that it’s easier to focus on others’ drama than face our own situations. But it bores me to be a People Magazine reader. I find much more joy in celebrating the blessings I have in my own little life.
I just wish there weren’t so many negative influences in this world that interfere with how I am trying to raise my boys. The Britany spectacles of this world make parenting harder, and heaven knows it is already a very hard job indeed!
