A couple of months ago I started on a new healthy lifestyle but first I started a list of things that I want to accomplish while meeting my goals.  I am terrified of heights and since I am starting to feel better about my weight and I seem to be in better shape I thought let me take one of those goals and start on it now because if I don't I a missing my window of opportunity.  I have been afraid of heights since I was 12 and fell out of a tree and hit all the branches coming down and landed on my butt (not a pretty sight)!  I hate to fly, I do not like elevators and if you get me near a balcony I freak out and cannot move.  At 41 I figured it was time to move on from the fear and set a new goal for myself - I want to visit Paris one day and the long flight alone would kill me and of course I want to visit the Eiffel tower and stand on the very top and just look at how beautiful the world is but I can't if I have to look down.  So to be able to do this I have to get over this fear and accomplish what I set out to do.  I decided to try rock climbing - I found a local place where you can go and they help you learn how to climb and if you tell them about your height problems it is no sweat they teach you how to overcome them.  I am really lucky I got a great instructor and he was kind enough to know what my limits are and he also encouraged me to not think about what I was afraid of but what I want to accomplish.  In all I am very proud of myself and I will be going back - my new goal is to make it to the very top, which is about as tall as the tallest tree you can see.  I know that if I can do this that I can do anything.  Please visit my blog at  [Link Removed] to see the pictures and some more details about my adventure.
