Love it

I’m just curious.  How many of you wear pantyhose and if you do...do you truly like wearing them?  Also....do you think they should be a dress requirement for a professional business or office?

I HATE THEM!!!

    • I wear pantyhose to church and as soon as I get home...they‘re off.

My mother works in a hotel, I guess you can say she’s ‘Management’ level and she has to wear them everyday. When she wears pants she HAS to wear a jacket that covers her behind...That’s their policy, pantyhose all the time and pants with jackets...(Makes me glad I’m at home...sheesh)

So do you think they make a woman look more professional wearing them or not?

    • I would consider that discrimination soulful40! What is the men's dress code? I'd opt for a tie -lol j/k
I used to like wearing support hose, but that was when I had varicose veins that were painful. I hated wearing them pregnant though because of the belly issue. I am glad I found something to help with the varicose veins and can't remember the last time I wore hose...I have a friend who hates bras, and would like to toss hers. I am not ready to go that far, but I doubt I'll even wear hose to my kid's weddings. :) I love long dresses! I have some short summery ones too, but between the toe sandals are a great excuse for no hose with them!

      Sharing Hope,

      Dee Dee

And yes...brown pantyhose are absolutely gross...I tend to buy the higher end ones simply because they seem to be more sheer...the sheerer the better...black...off white...never tan and never brown...Tights are okay too with the right outfit...

When we lived in St. Thomas I had to wear them every day (a dress code requirement by my company), which was awful. I’m getting up in the mornings putting on pantyhose and makeup while most other women are putting on bikinis and sunscreen.

I don’t think I’ve worn pantyhose since we moved back to Texas in 2004.

I’m just trying to get some feedback on this...so I have some ammunition.

    • Yes...sheer ones are better...and do look nice.  I think the people on our dress code committee need a course in fashion because they certainly do not know what is in..and what is available to buy out there.

I’m with feathermaye....they had to be invented by a man...women wouldn’t do that each other.

    • Well, I worked in the banking industry for 14 years and we had to have on some type of hosiery.  With slacks we could wear knee highs or trouser type socks.  I wore dresses most of the time and still do at my current job.  Occasionally I will wear a long dress with no hose, but most of the time I still wear panty hose or thigh highs.  Call me old fashioned but I just think it makes a woman look partially naked when she wears a shorter dress with no hosiery.  The young girls do it all the time.  My daughter and I have had this argument a few times.  I didn’t mind it if she was just going out with her friends, but for church I always insisted she wear panty hose.  I, like the rest of you think they are EVIL as far as comfort goes.  They must have been invented by a man who never had to wear them.  When I had a slim little 120 lb. body they were not so bad.  Lets just say I’m a teeny weeny bit heavier than that now.  I do think tan, nicely shaven legs look fine in a short dress for a casual occasion.  SORRY ladies I must sound like an old frump.  Well, actually I am an old frump.

it has occurred to me that the younger ladies are opting out because they don’t have the money to spend on more expensive taste that would include stockings.  Just a thought.....

I wear small fishnet pattern with a plain black dress it breaks it up .....

My big bug bear is when you see women with an open toes shoe and they have a big wedge of hoisery seam at the toe bulging ....tacky .
