Those who know me best know how much passion I have for women’s growth and development. When leaving last summer for the UK and Russell’s (Watson) concert in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne; I saw an awesome billboard. It read as follows: “The World’s Greatest Untapped Natural Resource - Women!” I stood & stared with tears in my eyes. The tears were for women in countries that fail to recognize what we bring to the world. Or perhaps they do and are scared ‘poopless’ about that power!

It’s true! We are the world’s greatest uptapped natural resource. Even in this wonderful nation, we make less than males doing the same work. And yes, there are males who still think of us as “sex objects” or worse. Women are often discouraged from reporting sexual assault because they know their lives will be held up to absolute scrutiny, etc. etc! But that’s not the point of this post.

Passion for the purpose for which we have been designed, often overtakes us. At least it does me. It often comes across as harsh, “in your face” and otherwise less than a compassionate approach to the expression of our passions. It seems to me that was me yesterday.

My passion to be the catalyst for women’s encouragement, enrichment and empowerment can push me into exhortation that has a very ‘cutting edge‘. But then exhortation is hardly ever soft-edged! It comes to push us out of our largesse & move us forward. At least that’s been my experience!

The question I ask myself every day is “what more can I do to make it happen for women?” “What more can we be that will make us the leading & foremost catalyst for women’s growth (enrichment, encouragement, equipment, etc.)?” I continually seek to know what more we can do - what more I personally & professionally can do?!

Passion for something is an absolute essential for the empowered life! Women have greater intuition than most men & we tend to use it much better I think. Many a man has been spared considerable embarrassment or worse by listening to the ‘gut’ of his wife! Why then are we still struggling to reach the level of recognition we so richly deserve? Is it that men are still awed by our ability to carry a child and give birth - as were our ancient male forefathers? I doubt that!

Again, I don’t have the answer, but I do know the questions to ask. Most of us do know the right questions to ask in order to elicit what we need to take the next step on our journey.

You know, I ‘grieved’ (not the kind of grief that binds one up emotionally) over yesterday’s somewhat ‘pressing’ post. But what I want to have happen for women world wide - passionately, at times - overtakes a tendency for softness.

As we’ve said over and over - there is a season for everything. There is a season for softness; a season for exhortation - but there is no particular season for passion. Passion for the purpose for which we were born knows no season. It comes and goes - but it never dissipates. It never runs and hides - at least for long. It rises, ebbs and flows much like the tides of the sea.

And when it rises to it’s absolute heighth - it is that which strives to call forth what others have yet to find within themselves. It peaks when others discover their passion and purpose. And it applauds that accomplishment as if it were it’s own!

So forgive the rising and peaking of my passion for each of you to be enriched, encouraged, equipped and empowered. If I at times offend with the energy that rolls forth onto the screen - forgive that as well.

And remember, it comes because I seek only what is best for each of you. Sorta like a “big mama” who knows the kids need a ‘swift kick in the rear’ out of love. And once that “kick” has been delivered - rushes to the bathroom, closes the door and weeps because doing so hurts her more than the kids!

Well, there I added this for a quiet Saturday of reflection. Look within and determine what you are most passionate about. Then go out and be the world’s most tapped resource for humanity.

Do so because you are WOMAN! For no other reason.

Much love in your Saturday!

Linda, a fellow journeyer
