This weekend I had the privilege of helping out my good friend with her parent’s house.  Her father had a massive stroke last Thursday and there is nothing they can do for him at this point.  As of yesterday, they predict he will have another massive stroke.  But if not, the plan is to bring him home this week.  My friend and I went to her parent’s house and cleaned.  Rearranged furniture to allow for a hospital bed and basically got the house ready for him to come home without her mother (who is elderly as well) having to worry or do anything.

This all got me thinking today.  Just think if we all could do “something” for someone else each day.  Doesn’t have to be anything big or time consuming as what I did yesterday...but just something.  And I’m not talking about if something just happens and you‘re there and you‘re able to help...I’m talking about really planning to do something for someone else...out of pure kindness.  For example, you know of someone who has trouble bringing in their trash can (like an elderly person)...you decide...I’ll do that for them each week.  Or...you know someone who doesn’t have a car or can’t drive...you call them up and say...where can I take you this week?  Just anything.  It is sort of like “acts of random kindness“...which is still great...but this you sort of plan.

Does anyone do this on a regular basis for anyone and if not...I challenge you to do so...and if you do...post it here and share with us what you did or do to help someone else.
