As I reflect on the activities of 2010, I am really grateful to see this day. With the help of God, we made it through another year. Regardless of what happened, we are still standing and that is a good thing.

Looking forward with expectancy toward 2011, I am excited about the possibilities. Having gained another year of life lessons, wisdom, experience and resources, I am positioned to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself. But in my zeal, I must be cognizant of who I am being and what I am doing, being ever careful to do what is most important in the right manner at the right time.

As we work to succeed in 2011, I want to offer a few tips on how to position yourself for an abundant year.

1. Understand who you are - don’t seek man’s validation, only realize that you are a child of the Most-High God and you are awesome in His sight. He holds no good thing from you and if He is for you, no man can be against you. You are loved and you are favored so you can accomplish anything that you strive to attain.

2. Prioritize your world - look at your life as a pie. Look at all the roles that you play, mother, wife, friend, co-worker, employer, member, etc as pieces of the pie. Now prioritize your roles so that you are making the appropriate investment of your time, efforts and money to keep your world balanced.

3.  Create a mini vision board - this will keep you focused on the things that you want to achieve throughout the year. Take a piece of paper and past pictures of what you want on it. Make copies and post them in prominent places so that you can look at them several times every day. Carry one with you and when you get stressed or frustrated, take it out and view it so that you can remain active and hopeful.

4.  Establish a budget - sticking to a budget is the best stress reliever that you can have. Creating a budget allows you to see where you are spending your money, get out of debt, pay your bills on time, save for a rainy day and pay yourself a spending allowance. When money is not the primary focus of your day, you will function more efficiently and have more time to do the things that you want to do. When money is on your mind, it slows your progress and places you in a space of limitation and fear. Get help with this if needed.

5. Make a gratefulness list - when you are feeling frustrated, stuck or even down, take a moment to jot down the blessing that you have been given. Frustration and it’s brother emotions keep you from achieving your best and generate a great deal of negative energy. Let’s face it. we all will have our “moments.” But it would behove us to keep them short so that we can move on and get things done. The practice of making a gratefulness list will improve your perception of life and raise your spirits.

6. Read for inspiration and wisdom - God’s word has all the answers and can help you persevere in times of challenges, gain the wisdom to deal with difficult situations and re-assure us of how much we are loved.

7. Create success for someone else - when we help others get what they want, we open the door to receive what we want. What we give away, we get back. Ensure that you schedule time to volunteer your time or take on a protegee. What ever you sow, you will reap.

These are just a few things that you can do to position yourself for the abundant life in 2011. If you are focused on what’s important, working hard to remain positive and hopeful and supporting others, you will be well on your way to getting what you want.

I encourage you, don’t listen to naysayers, ignore your haters, surround yourself with people who are interested in your success and only believe what God says about you. Your are fearfully and wonderfully made. You have the power to succeed. You are a Woman of Wow!
