Hi Ladies,
As our community grows, and virtual relationships are now becoming sacred on line and off line, we have launched local chapters, private groups, private blogs and many other private features that you have asked us to implement.
Our techies worked really hard upgrading the system, implementing new software improvements and trying to figure out a way to make our system solid proof. In order for that to happen we needed to obtain more servers, bandwidth, memory, and all that great tech stuff that I know very little about.
It has become extremely costly to sustain this website without membership. In order for us to continue to implement new features and provide you with a great platform to connect, share, support each other, and promote your businesses, we've decided to implement a premium paid membership in order to recover some of the costs.
We are aware that times are tough and this might not be the best time to start charging membership, however, we can no longer bare the cost alone. After hosting several focus groups and talking to many members, the Premium Membership of $39.95 a year will be implemented shortly.
To make things a bit easier for you, we are offering one month free for every paying member that you refer to our community. All you need to do is send me an email or a message with the members name and one month will be added to your membership.

Private Groups ? Fab40 Members that purchase the premium package can start and join any existing private group at no additional charge as long as the owner of the group approves your request. With Private groups you can build your own community of women, cross promote between groups and brand yourself among the strong following on Fabulously40.
Local Chapters
? A Girls Nights Out, Martini Club, Book Club, etc, what ever your fancy is join a club or start your own.
Invite Members To Join the Premium Package- Receive 1 month free for every paying new member.
Blogs - Fab40 Members have an option of setting their post to "friends only" or password protected. When the posts are marked "friends only" they will only be accessible by your list of fab40 friends.
Featured Blog's ? All paid members public posts are automatically featured on the fab40 Home Page.
Unlimited picture uploading
Signature Box ? Enables you to have a custom signature to promote your business with every post.
Podcasts ? Access to podcasts, and web-blogs on topics such as business, marketing, and various Expert Advice podcasts, such as divorce, organization, etc.

This is truly a great idea and I love the thought of all the privacy. My only question is, if I apply for premium membership, does this still allow me the use of the free membership, I would hate to loose contact with members who can’t afford to upgrade and vice versa.
After working on a new website for my own business from scratch with the help of techs, I understand the complexity and I don’t know how you have kept from charging up to this date. ( And I can’t believe you still have hair and haven’t yet pulled it out! lol lol )

If we join (I plan to) will we get a discount on banner advertising? I kind of thought that was what was paying for this site...
I’ve been in other groups in which this happened. You come in during the beta testing period and then the site goes to paid membership. Often, the folks that helped you work out the kinds get special treatment!
Will there be a different joining fee for those who join after you go to the full-member version? IE - are we die hards getting a SPECIAL deal? Or will everyone get the same rates etc.
Sorry - I love you guys but I am also a business person!!! I like to know the business details too!

Can we hand over a private group we already have if we cannot afford 39.95 right now? Or will it just be lost?
I won’t be able to until the sag greedy ones decide to strike or not. If they stirke we are out of a job. And love you all, but my money cannot be spent here if that happens. lol
Also, does this mean we will not have the advertisements on our pages if we have a premium membership? The site gets money from those right?

This is a wonderful idea! I know it is a necessary and am completley onboard. However...at the risk of sounding like a pauper...There is no way I can pay to join right now...so I will be lurking around in the free membership areas still as frequesnt as I am now. I will still be talkin and postin to my Fab friends here every day! I hope you Fab ladies that pay still will participate in our regular day to day!

You know.... I understand completely what Mz Tracy is saying.... I’ve been out of work since the end of last June.... mind you.... when I do have a job.... money isn’t an issue....

We are well aware that it is $39.95 a year... not a month....we‘re not idiots.... but 40 bucks is 40 bucks.... and when you‘re not working.... it gets spent elsewhere... as Tracy points out she can always join when she has a better handle on what things are going to be...
A little sensitivity would be appreciated.... I am truly happy that the fee isn’t an issue for most of you.... but at certain times it is for some....

The private groups, signatures & url’s that allow you to promote your businesses, and privacy options on blog postings was something that was added few months ago and was in “a quite” test mode while some of you used it, some of you didn’t.
While we completely understand the hardships that people face at the moment, this is a business that has been running for three years offering a platform for people to connect, share and grow. Privately funded site runs out of money just like a single person does when out of work. Regardless of the advertisements you see on the site, and regardless of what you have been told in the past how advertising is very lucrative, unless the site sells products, or has millions of users, money from advertising doesn’t even cover the minimum expenses.
As I've mentioned in my blog above we are very much aware that most of us are struggling with financial hardships, that is why we will continue to offer everything we did prior to several months ago when we implemented some of the private features. You will be able to continue to enjoy the site and interact with everyone on the site as you did before.

Unfortunately, I am one of those in the financial difficulty group and will not be able to afford the premium membership, but I am so glad to still be able to be a part of such a wonderful site. I have made many friends and would not want to lose them because $40./year is not something I can justify right now.

Phew...I’m glad to see I’m not alone in not being able to do the premium membership right now..I thought I was alone in this, because it’s really not alot when I think about it..Heck I paid $9.95/2 per month for the dating sites I was on, but that was when my finances were better, I was getting my child support on a regular.
Hubby said he would see what we can do though, but I really don’t feel comfortable putting more on him than he has...He just knows how much I love and need you guys and doesn’t want me to miss out...such a sweetheart..
No one should feel pressure for a premium membership. Whether or not one can afford it and whether or not one wants it is each person’s personal business. The great thing about the structure of this is that you don’t have to have a premium membership to continue participating and you can upgrade at any time you choose. Ultimately, no one who wants to be here will be left out and people who want something a little extra can get that too.
