I read a very disturbing story this morning. It seems that a school board in Mississippi has decided to cancel a prom rather than let a female bring a female date. Both girls go to the school and were told that if they danced together they would be asked to leave.

One of the girls contacted the ACLU who then contacted the school board. In response the board canceled the promo.

This places the two girls in a very dangerous position. The rest of the students are mad at them. We’ve seen it before, harassment and bullying can lead to physical harm and even death.

The decision also says that it is okay to discriminate against people based on their sexual preference.

The ACLU is suing the board. There’s a petition asking the board to go ahead with the prom. You can email members of the board (some emails are bouncing).
