SEVEN AT FORTY-EIGHT

So, recently a bunch of co-workers (males, for the most part...younger males with the sensibilities of the booze-saturated frat boys that they once were or wanted to be) were hanging out in the hallway after school.  I had packed my mess and was on my way out to the car when I passed by this motley crew.  As I walked by, one of them yelled "seven!"  Confused, I turned around and yelled "Fourteen!"—714 being Sergeant Friday's badge number on the old "Dragnet" show.

I thought maybe it was some kind of trivia game.  Sadly, I was wrong.

Another colleague informed me that they were "rating" me on a scale of 1-10.

   Seven.

   I used to be a solid 8 ½.

I will be depressed all week.

    • I know exactly how you feel, Kirby. I was in a mall once when a couple of Hispanic men passed by me. I heard one of them say “Gordita“. I glared back at them. They looked surprised, since I am a “gringo“! I speak very little Spanish, but I understood that he called me “a little fat“!!!

Jesus girl, I'm sure that brother did appreciate your thick friend, but not all brothers like them *thick*.

    • Okay...i just have to chime in here.

The first sentence you state: “younger males with the sensibilities of the booze-saturated frat boys that they once were or wanted to be.”

How can you give one iota of validity those jackasses???  Only a person who is not secure in who he is would “play” such a game.  With that said, those little boys may qualify you as a 7, but they’ve PROVEN that they‘re jackasses.

So now who should be depressed for a whole week???
