I went to the Dr. for a physical last week.  I swear all I need is one more thing. It’s not as bad as some of the things that some of you wonderful women are going through, but I have had enough!
My cholesterol is high. Not a big deal except my husband does the grocery shopping and eats whatever he wants.
My blood pressure has been high. Ok! low sodium diet. Not so bad, I have finally gotten my husband used to the fact that I don’t add gobs of salt while cooking. He adds more anyway, no matter what it tastes like. I swear that one of these days I am going to wake up and he will be laying beside me mummified!
I have been going through serious depression. No one would know because I always have a smile planted on my face. I do this because as a child I learned not to complain.
I am fed up with having ms. I am so tired of feeling tired! I can’t do anything without feeling like I am going to collapse..It’s frustrating. I cried all day on Saturday, literally!
I am having a real problem with the latest ms symptom. I have been having tests done...x-rays, ultrasounds, colonoscopy, endoscopy, biopsies....I’m soooo tired! My Dr. is trying to rule out anything that could be causing my intestines to be paralyzed. Sorry..it’s gross!
ALL of the tests have come back neg.. Which is good in a way, but it means the cause is ms. I was hoping for a more “fixable” problem.
I still am waiting for the biopsies to come back. I will get those on Feb. 13th.
However, he told me the paralysis is from ms.
What to do? Keep taking two laxatives to get my bowels to move and do ememas to make sure it all gets out. GROSS! It makes me feel nasty and disgusting.
I also have such pain that none of the prescriptions they give me work. WTH!
I want my old body back. It’s been ten years too many.
On a happier note...I am so thankful that I found this site and all of you women.
I love you all so much!

    • Jomi...have you ever heard of ‘Senna’ Tea or leaves? The local grocery store have it in tea form and the health food store carries the leaves. It’s an excellent way to stay ‘regular’ without the laxitive effect. I drink the tea and also give it to the kids from time to time..Just a suggestion..

As far as the depression, honey I can’t tell you what to do about that. I suffer with it something terrible at times too. Meds don’t seem to help me right now and I went to the doc this morning and she said ‘Maybe if you take them everyday they might help’ She has a point there. I find talking to someone helps at times though...We‘re all here for you luv...

    • soulful, the first thing that we tried was a tea called Organic Smooth Move.  It did nothing.  Have tried several different things.  The nerves to my intestines have been affected so they can’t move stuff down and out. TY for the suggestion!

    • (((Jomi))) With MS being a depressant, and then all that goes with it, depression is part of the game.

Does your doctor have you on anything for depression? If not, ask, if so, you may need to up the dose or change it.

I take Colace, for one week, every night when I get the ‘backed up’ thing going on. And as you know, it happens a lot and is not fun for us! They gave it to me in the hospital once, every night for 5 days and it actually worked where nothing else did. It may not work for you, but it will not hurt to try.

Drink lots of water, room temp not ice cold, stay away from any sodas. No diet stuff with aspartime, splenda, or any of that stuff. I noticed a big change when I stopped that.

You know u r in my blessings always and you know where to find me. xoxo ♥

    • Jomi,
My BFF has MS and is dealing with the same thing you‘re going through with the intestines, and like Tracy, she uses Colate-plus she eats bran cereal A LOT and digestive yogurt, like Activia. Her doc also has her on Zoloft, which is an anti-depressant.

    • Thank  you for your support everyone.
Tracy.. I was taking colace every night and 4 metamucil for a couple of years.  It stopped working. I take Cymbalta because it is supposed to help depression and nerve pain. Ha!

The only thing keeping me going is my Faith and my girls, and of course all of you.

    • tracy’s right the colace does work..(for some) but it takes some time..when I couldn’t take the other stuff during my pregnancy, I used the colace as they gave it to me in the hospital, but it takes time, plus it depends on the strength...Another suggestion...Warm Prune Juice...a nice coffee mug full at night...yummmm

Tracy is a big help to me when it comes to these things.

Thanks Cindylou...it’s a hit and miss thing.  For some reason my body reacts to something for a short period of time and then it stops. So, we move on to something else.

    • if you have been off colace for a while give it a go for a week or so and see if it can help again. Sometimes we get the immunity and then if we go off for a bit, it may work again.

And jomi, you help me as well. You are my newest MS partner in crime!! lol
