This is a first in my home. My hubby is traveling to Phoenix, won’t be home until Monday. Our oldest son, his fiancee and kids, will be out of town for a couple of days(they live with us),our daughter lives in South Carolina. Our youngest son, his wife and baby will be around, but their 4 year old sons are with other family members. And for the first time in 12 years, I’m not hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house.

So tonight I will go home to a quiet house. And tomorrow morning I will wake up to a quiet house. I will join my brother and his family for Thanksgiving dinner, then return to my quiet house. Now I have been desperate for some quiet for quite a while, but for some reason I’m feeling a little lonely.

So...I’m taking you all home with me tonight! I will have my trusty laptop, and whenever I feel alone, I’ll check in and see what’s going on in Fab40 land! I’m very grateful I have that connection in case things are just too quiet!

To all of you, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you find much to be grateful for, regardless of your circumstances!

Blessings,
Cindy

    • Hi Cindy,

“And for the first time in 12 years, I'm not hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house.”

I’m in the same boat as you are! This is the first time in 10 years I’m not preparing Thanksgiving or Christmas for my husband’s 22 family members.

I’m feeling a bit lonely too (just posted a blog to that affect myself...)

Isn’t it nice to know that the internet is there, so we can reach out and connect with people all over the world when we feel alone?

      Happy Thanksgiving!

      Maria

    • Awww, Cindy. You should take advantage of the quiet and enjoy a movie that’s either going to make you laugh out loud, or cry like a baby—or maybe both!!

We‘re keeping it pretty low-key tomorrow. Six of us are going to brunch at 12:30, and then by 4 or so everyone will be going their separate ways. We’ve got some shrimp and cheese and crackers for the evening, but are boycotting all the extra cooking and fanfare.

You hang here with the fab bunch tonight, or read your favorite book, or even crash out early (which is probably what I would do, lol). Enjoy your own company! :)

I will be thinking of you tomorrow while I am preparing my 24 pound turkey with all of the fixings, probably wishing for some ME time...LOL

      Happy Thanksgiving!!

    • Cindy,
I have a houseful, and I am feeling lonely for my hubby. :) We are picking him up at the airport tomorrow. I had been looking forward to the LFL call tonight, but I am thinking it was dumb of me to schedule the first call the night before Thanksgiving. :) I was all alone.
Originally we had planned on Clay not being here. He has only been in Colorado for two weeks, but he is going crazy with loneliness. It baffles me. He is a private person who really enjoys peace and quiet. I didn’t expect him to be lonely for quite some time. He said he was homesick before he got there. LOL Trying to keep up with our crew doesn’t leave much time for me to be lonely.
Tonight, I am up to do the cooking and all the kids are down for the count. It is going to be a long night.

I agree with Heather. Watch a favorite movie, or one you haven’t seen before. Enjoy your family time tomorrow. Sometimes when we are alone is when it is easiest for us to really realize our blessings. I know that it is that way for me anyway.

    • Hey Cindy, if it is any consolation.  It is just me on my own tomorrow.  My son is going to meet some family members of his girlfriend, my husband has to work, but we do have a lot to be thankful for, so when he gets home around 3:00, the little dinner I planned, should be done and we can give thanks.

I know you have a lot to be thankful for also, so here’s to you...HAPPY THANKSGIVING
