Fabulously forty and a single mother of two. Life hasnt been this good for a loooong, looong time. Yet hardly a day goes by when somehow or the other I am pointed out my single status. How do you manage? Arent you lonely? Arent you scared? How will you take all this responsibility? Wont the kids lose out?
Why dont people say, Awesome! What a treat! You must be having such a good time!
Much because I guess there is still this huge premium on remaining in the plural state of me and partner. At least in my country there still is a clear understanding that if you are single you still havent “settled down“.
What do I think? I think I’d be happier if people didnt point out the problems of the future but appreciated the fact that I got out of this Big Problematic Marriage with my sanity and children more or less intact. Of course I have problems now. But I am used to them - and besides, I like these problems more than the ones I had earlier.
What do you think?

    • We must change world’s mind. Single women aren’t incomplete. Although we can find a good mate to live with, it shouldn’t be our only focus. And let’s be serious: women run homes! so... if the man goes out...he will be the one that could feel lonely or scared....

    • I think you are on the right track when you said I am used to them - and besides, I like these problems more than the ones I had earlier  It is a beginning of acceptance.  It will get better - no matter single or plural.  It's time to seek your own happiness.  Cheers.
