    • I fall asleep almost immediately.  I only toss and turn if something is bothering me or Im hungry.  Otherwise, sleep is something I do and do well!!

    • You can laugh at me:
I need my security blanket to cover my tummy
      I also hold my rosary
I pray to fall into asleep
and trust me, I never finish even a decade (10 Hail Marys)

    • I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere and under any condition if I am tired enough. I have no problem catching a cat nap every now and then.
Now if the question is am I able to sleep for more than 3 hours at one time then NO I can’t.

    • Okay, this may sound strange, but here goes.....
I have a hypnosis CD that I listen to almost every night. It is full of positive affirmations and suggestions.
There are 5 tracks on it and they are all for different things. The one that helps me to sleep relaxes me to the point where I can hardly turn off the CD player, it is that effective for me. I just love it and it really helps me.

    • Good idea Inakika, they said it would penetrate and nail into your subconscious mind.  No wonder you are so positive, hip hip hooray!

    • Once I lay down, I’m typically out within a few minutes (although I usually am on the laptop or reading for about an hour before laying down). I like to have something playing in the background to drown out the outside noise (there’s a fair amount of traffic on our property through the night), so will usually put in a DVD that I’ve watched a zillion times so the sounds are familiar and not intrusive (I used to sleep with music but can no longer hear my alarm clock if music is playing... weird!).

I like the room cool and will alternate between snuggled under the covers and kicking them off all night long.

I enjoy a good 7 hours, but if I’m in the bed for much more than that I start to get stiff and will wake up cranky.

    • I MUST fall asleep on my side. When I’m ill and must lay on my back, it takes HOURS to fall asleep!

Tossing and turning depends on my physical and mental state when I’m asleep.

Before I had babies, I slept on my stomach. I rarely sleep on my stomach anymore.

I fall asleep quickly unless I’m in pain.

I wake up every morning in the wee hours (3-5a.m.) with hot flashes (change my shirt, drink water, etc.) and then try to go back to sleep.
