I’m wondering if anyone has any great ideas for a sleep-under party. My daughter is having about 15 girls. We‘re starting with pizza, then decorating mini cupcakes..then a movie. I’m trying to find a good movie (popcorn of course) which the kids haven’t seen. Is there such a think in this day and age??? Also, other party ideas? Painting toe nails is an idea...the whole idea is that the kids come in pjs...AND GO HOME!!!! I can’t possibly handle a sleepover because I like to sleep!  More activity ideas???

    • I think 15 is way too many to handle even for a sleep under.  I’d have to self-medicate to cope and I don’t think the other mom’s would appreciate it!

My surprise girl (who’s turning 10 in a month) is having a sleep over for her BD and we‘re watching the Wizard of Oz, a great movie and one that I’ve seen probably 800 times and enjoy every time.

Ive got a girl friend who’s a stylist coming over with her assistant to do hair, make-up and nails. I purchased a plain straw hat for everyone and we‘re going to decorate them too - I bought a ton of flowers and glue and goofy stuff to put on them so it should be fun.

Cheese pizza is always perfect and I like your idea of decorating cupcakes! Sounds fun!

    • I actually don’t know how many girls we’ll have..she wants 7 or 10 and there are 15 in the class and I’m afraid of offending...we’ll see. My daughter’s class has 31 kids!!! No such thing as a small party unless I go REALLY small and then of COURSE I’m bound to offend...we did that last year...Would go for it this year if I could keep the number to FEWER than half the girls...In any case yes a sleep-under means pj party without the sleepover part...I love the hat idea..great one...if I could find something in time that would work. Thought of getting someone legit to come in....will ask my daughter what she thinks..but if we do that we don’t really need the movie...they can just go home! send more ideas as you get them!!!

    • Just gotta comment: The way to overcome the thought of, “I don’t want to offend” is satisfied by MAILING personal invitations to the girls’ homes vs. passing out invitations at class.

Personally, and I’m no expert by any stretch, I think that you set the example to your daughter by teaching her that its okay to not invite everyone.

These kind of lessons comes from home and I always try not to forget that I’m not just raising a kid, but I’m also raising a citizen, someone’s roomate or girlfriend, a future wife and a future mother.  ox

    • maybe we will go for that..just have to see the numbers. I still think you can’t invite 2/3 of a class. But you‘re right that maybe it’s duable and it will be a nicer party.
about kareoke..how do I do that? no clue? don’t i need a special machine or something?
