For most people, this is a time where the economy is tough, interest rates are up, budgets are being cut left and right. Presumably this happens both corporately and personally. So how do you make allowances for looking good without sacficing quality?

I’ve always believed that you can get amazing quality products at the drugstore. The trick is to be a bit discerning about the products that you shop for at the drugstore and the products you shop for at the department store.

Here are a couple of things to think about.

1) The downside of buying products at the drugstore is that you don’t have the opportunity to try these products on before purchasing. However, many drugstores have great return policy so you want to check that out before buying.

2) As a general rule, unless you have product that you love, I would stick to buying foundation at department store. The reason for this is that you really want to be able to try the product on and make sure the color is right before purchasing. Skin color changes all the time so this is something that you always want to make sure of before purchasing.

3) Lipglosses, lipsticks, mascaras and pencils and eyeliner are great to look at purchasing at the drugstore! These are easy, budget friendly products to save money on!

4) Hair products can be great to pick up at drugstore. Often they feature the latest technology and are a fraction of the cost!

5) An empowered women knows how to make her money work for her! Having a well-thought-out, mixed makeup wardrobe that includes everything from Chanel to Maybelline is very savvy!
