In this day and age of the “hustle and bustle” how does one individual possibly do it all?  When do we know it’s time for a self imposed “time-out?”  How do we pick and choose what to “neglect” for a moment in time or what to remove from our “to do” list all together?  I’m in the thick of it and would like to believe I’m doing a decent job.  So right now my exercise routine is calling... my 13 year old who is off from school has just posed the monotonous question “what’s for breakfast?“...my dog needs a walk...I need to get in touch with a creditor...and book my daughter’s - the college student, who is in Cambodia right now (REALLY!), flight home from California, the hubby is squared away at work with a big grin from our 1am rendezvous - ugh! The youngest is at school being picked up by our car pool neighbor - whew! The boss has reminded me to renew my certification and make a work commitment for a summer holiday - grrr... SO I‘M GOING FOR A WALK to get in my 10,000 steps for the day after a quick bite with my son.  I’m taking the dog and my son on my walk.  The other items... on hold. Perhaps during my walk I will formulate a plan of action for the rest?  SHARE YOUR TIME SAVING TIPS AS WE ALL NEED HELP!

Ciao

    • So after the walk I tackled the creditor and flight.  It was nice to have quality time with my sons...yes the dog is that loved! Those requests from my boss are still pending though -ugh!  But I’m on vacation so...it will wait.

The first time saving tip I employ is “Combine the Madness.”

If at all possible get creative about what things can be checked off your list simultaneously. Making a quick bite for myself and my son = taking care of him and me.  Eating with him, then going for a walk with him and the dog = my exercise, and quality time with “the boys.” Leaving work stuff on the back burner...I knew I would be on vacation(and not seeing my boss for 10 days - woo hoo!) thus that priority was moved to the bottom of the list.

Combine the Madness Favorite: You have children that must  do their reading each night.  You still have dinner dishes to get done and preparation for the morning.  Have them read out loud nearby.  More than one child? Have them take turns reading out loud to each other.

Please share time saving tips... WE ALL NEED HELP:)!
