Be a Grand Marshal in a parade? Usually it is a man and they can throw on a nice suit and look bangin‘! lol  As a woman GM it’s not quite that easy...I’m not sure what i should wear.I am very much a jeans and nice shirt kinda gal but know that may not be appropriate for that day. Plus there is a very nice Grand Marshal dinner at an upscale Irish pub the Sunday night before. Its a very nice $50/ plate dinner with 2 wonderful Irish musicians attending to entertain us, being held in my honor...lol..this stuff seems so crazy to me. So, I’m in need of 2 outfits. Fun to shop for but Im on a very strict budget but I know the Lord always provides!  Oh and do you think this should have anything to do with my color choice? I am riding in a candy apple red corvette convertible through the parade route, should that be considered with colors I wear for the parade?.  I do have something very nice I’ve only worn once for our anniversary dinner that I can wear for the  GM dinner. I really don’t know if I should wear green or not.  A dress or shirt and skirt, Really be myself and wear shirt and nice new jeans or dress pants.  I have to consider that after the parade there is an after parade party were I have to mingle and make a speech and be very visible...comfy shoes will be a must as well! Its really getting close. Im really just kinda thinking “out loud” here but as always, your input is respected and considered.

      Good luck and good shopping!

    • Ree....ok...what is the weather like?  Is it cold? I say wear some nice black slacks....with a nice sweater/top...and a dress coat w/a scarf and a nice hat.  Look classy but be comfortable.  Oh and have some gloves on.

If it’s not cold (I can’t imagine it not being)....then still wear some nice black slacks...and a cute turtleneck sweater w/a jacket.....

Is this parade in the daytime or at night time?

I don’t think a dress would be a great idea for the parade so I would go with nice slacks, shirt and jacket. Remember there was a write up about all the places you represent. So to gain the trust of new real estate clients you need to look nice without being fussy. And that goes for the other organizations you‘re on. If you‘re too nice people may think you don’t need donations.

As the dinner.... Dress up in your most elegant power dress.

Most importantly have fun and wear a smile. Very few will look beyond that!

    • Thank you Ladies. Mary...March in New Jersey can either have blizzards or 60 degree weather...just have to wait and see but I really like what you and Vicki said ( well all of you had great things to say). I will get a nice pair of dark gray or black dress pants with a nice green turtle neck and a nice black blazer. Im going to get a black silk scarf with shamrocks on it. And stylish but comfortable black boots. I will have scarf, hat and gloves on stand by! I have lapel pins that represent my organizations so a blazer’s lapel can be used to show them off anyway.

Vicki...i’m sitting in the front seat of the car...i’m one of those lucky people that would roll off the back because the brakes get hit a little too hard if i sat on the back ...lol The parade is at noon. But there’s a full Irish breakfast at 8 that morning for the parade committee and Miss St. Patrick, me and our families...it will probably be colder in the morning. I’ll just have to be prepared. Thank you! I really felt frazzled about that and now its one less thing i have to think about!

Red, black and grey coats are so pretty  with complementary clothing: red/black, red/grey, green/black. Of course, leather gloves make the perfect addition!

Ree, you have some exciting days ahead, I’m thrilled for you! Enjoy!
