**I have something I would like to share..Every year we have something called "COURT DAYS" it starts for us in Flemingsburg and runs through to Mt Sterling distance is about 30 miles give or take a few..But as you drive to Mt. Sterling there are literally hundreds of yard sales..We start our trek at about 7:30 am... I know what you may be thinking(probably same as I did the first time) Getting up at 5:30 to meet every one to go to Yard Sales and buying stuff other people don't want!!! Nope not how it is..These fine folks down here are selling very nice stuff..Handmade items and yes things that are hardly used from clothes to baby furniture to tools and so on..I was hooked after my first time out..Example Jerry bought a 200.00+ King size feather bed toper.. in the plastic bag still.. For $ 15.00..The lady bought it for her daughter last Christmas she slept on it one time and hated it..so her Mom sold it..She was asking more for it but no one can resist Jerry when he starts haggling prices..He is so good at it... I bought at least 15 high end designer dresses and out fits..For 1.00 each..Some still had tags on them..Why you may ask..Because she said she gained weight and could no longer wear them and from the looks of her home and person she could quite frankly afford anything she wanted.. We also got a King size comforter set..Sheet set, bed skirt, pillow shames and decorative pillows, and comforter...for $ 10.00...why so cheap..Well the lady who had it re decorated her bed room..She used the set for less than a year..It was in the bag it came in..She kept it very well.. It had all been cleaned..Now the only thing I will not use will be the sheets..But I will use the sheets to sew myself some matching runners for my dressers and night stands.. There is everything you can imagine..We have gotten sooo many very nice items..And saved soooo much money...Antique buyers heaven..From furniture to Depression glass wear. Everything you could imagine..Everything from Brand new, Brand Name bras still in plastic.. 6 for $20.00 to Guns, Jewelry, Food..It is amazing and a lot of fun...Venders selling all kinds of yummy food to amazing other items like, Jerry and my son Justin each bought amazing replicas of a Renascence period, Med-Evil Swords..We went to the Renascence Festival and the same ones we bought were priced at 200.00+ dollars..Big Savings!!! Jerry paid 50.00 for his and Justin paid 30 .00 for his. We were there for hours and still didn't get to see it all..We left at 7:30 am and got home at 8:00 pm...here is a insert from the net I found...   What was traditionally the last trading day for much of Eastern Kentucky, Court Day still draws people from all corners of the world to trade, buy and sell. Today you might find one-of-a-kind antiques, handmade crafts, collectibles, handmade furniture and even the bounty of autumn’s harvest. Court Day is always on the third Monday in October each year with the festivities beginning full swing the Saturday and Sunday before. On this weekend, Mt. Sterling grows from a population of 5,300 to an estimated 130,000 or more. One of the most remarkable things is the good nature and friendly atmosphere that the locals from Mt. Sterling generate. They open their town to people from across the nation and freely give warm hospitality truly only found in the south. Court Day is a lot more to the home folk than just trading and eating great country ham and biscuits. It’s a time for seeing old friends and family. Well, its a great day and a great tradition like no other day in the country!! You haven’t lived until you attend Court Day in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky!

    • I’m with teeky......a roadtrip sounds like a plan.  Is it a certain date each year or a certain weekend of a certain month each year?  Might be a trip to plan for next year.
